I thought I heard or read somewhere that the taller your player the more restriction he will get. For a point guard, don't go any taller than 6'4.

My three was non-exsistant when I scored 59, you basically get forced into around the half of the first quarter I noticed they were playing lax defense but my team was NOT SCORING, So I just started crossing them up and getting the And 1, I had about 12 And 1's that game becasue of my 99 Layup

So basically I just drove the paint and kept scoring

depends on how much you want to be able to block shots lol

im listed at 6'3'' and i get around 0.6 bpg

for the most part i look at the height of some of the more elite stars at my position...derrick rose is at 6'3'' so i chose that height

but yeah even though the Insider says that the amount of skill points they reward you is on a height basis...i never had the time to test that out...probably wont...i dont really care about the difference in points you get since you have a long time to develop your player in an 82 game season

everyone has their own thing they want to do in this game when they're starting off...but i love an unstoppable mid-range game over flashy dunks any day

-mid-range shot
-consistency
-shoot off dribble
-verticals

Summary (Thus Far)

I played exeptional in the Pre-Career Things such as the summer league, Training camps ect. Averaged around 25 Points and 12 Rebounds. I found that I was a VERY good rebounder for a 6'5 Shooting guard. Even though I played well, i didn't expect to go very high, so i was surprised to go in the first round. As you could guess, my first season with the wizards didn't go very well. We lost our first 17 games, before finally beating the blazers by only a few (2 or 3 i think.) In that stretch, i didn't start, and averaged a little over 5 points and 6 rebounds on 17 minutes Looking at a looong season ahead, I considered requesting a trade. After seeing that EVERYONE Else is traded their first year. I decided to stick around and try to turn my rookie season around. I eventually became the starting shooting guard, and leading player in shooting percentage by all star weekend. I was invited to participate in the rookie-sophmore game, but a nagging ankle injury kept me from it, and about 10 games that year. nearing the end of my rookie year I had emerged as a great shooter and good scorer finishing with 15 points 9 rebounds per game. my 2 assists per game is what I was most upset about.
Although it was very frustrating being on a team that only won 19 games, the thing i hated most about Washington is the player makeup on the team, an-often injured Josh Howard that took 70% of the teams shots. (only making about 15% of them...) Gilbert Arenas Opting his 3pt game over his Drive to the rim Mentality, Dumb Personal Trades (Kirk Hinrich for Marcin Gortat, Javale McGee for Chris Duhon). John Wall Was my best friend, taking smart shots and dishing to open teamates rather than 'Josh Howard-ing'. He ended up edging me for Rookie of the year.

Then came the Off-Season. I first want to say, as much as I freaking LOVE My Player mode, I was dissapointed to see 2K didn't do anything to make the off-season better. Anyway... After everything simulated, Three teams had interest in me, not including the wizards, who, with the 1st pick in the draft, nabbed an 81 overall PF, But traded our leading scorer from the previous year, Andre Blatche, and apparently let go nick young. After seeing this, it cemented my time in D.C. and I wanted to move on.

Los Angeles, Boston, and Orlando. 3 Title Contenders. With LA Needing that one piece to get back the Championship after loosing it to heavily favored Miami in 7 games, I was In.

At the start of the 2011-2012 season, I took my gold #14 and was ready to be a force with LA. I was however prepared to come off the bench for Future H.O.F. Kobe Bryant. 1st Things first, The Lakers sent aging Point Guard Fisher and Lamar Odom to Phoenix to bring in the final part to mesh it all together. Steve Nash.
It was very surprising when I Started the first game at the small forward position, coming off a year where i didn't play SF. We started off very VERY Poorly only raking in 10 wins from 19 games. Then I was hit with a Severe ankle sprain. My team went on a 7 game winning streak in my absence, then, upon my return we rallied on to (What it is now..) a 41-21 record.
I am currently coming off the bench to play 3 positions, PG, SG, and SF. Not often PG because we have two-although not great in any particular category-Solid Rookie point guards.

Now, HERE. Is my problem. I don't know what it is, but I just cannot seem to knock down a 3 pointer for the life of me. My 3pt rating is 95, and I can't hit even the simplest wide open jumpers, sometimes even going as bad as 1-11!!!
Another thing to note is that I play for realism, i'm not a guy who aims for 50 a game in hopes of huge skill point numbers to take online. That's not where the fun is. as of now i'm averaging 19.8 points and 9.5 rebounds. (with 4.2 assists!!) It's also important to know that of our 62 games, i've only play 43. due to the darn ankle injury.

Much Appreciation to anyone who had the time and tolerance to read this. It really was very fun to type up, and I hope you can help me with my problem of not being able to hit my WIDE OPEN Threes.

Sorry for making it so long, and i'll keep you posted here and there if you like. =]
Hey, your career is lookin very promising. I too, play for realism because for me, gettin 40 points and a triple double is more exciting than iso- dunking all game long and dropping one hundred. I've also had that three-point delimma that your facing. My guy isn't a three point specialist, but he's deadly from the corner and can easily put up 9 threes a game when he gets hot. But I think your problem is shot stick timing. I used to have games like that where my shot just didnt feel right, so I kept shooting, but I kept missing. It was because I was on a cold streak, and even though my timing was right, it just wouldn't go in. My tip to you, would be to do the shooting drill, or just practice 3's before games, to get your timing down. Once you hit that first three, and you start knockin down shots, those other 3's wil come easier. Hope this helps.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

How can I get John Wall to score more? Every time he's on a fastbreak and he's about to score he passes it out to me, and every time I run a play that's designed to go to him he passes out of his shot. I don't want to be the lead scorer for every game, just most games. I know Wall is capable of doing it in the game though because there was one game where he scored 25 points and I scored 18, that's the only time I haven't been the leading scorer my whole career since I got the starting job. Or how can I make any of my other teammates score more?
