Newbie would like some opinions

Hi. Newbie here.

I saw this game (NBA 2K10) on YouTube and it looked really fun so I was thinking of buying an XBox 360 4 GB Console just to play it. I'm not really interested in playing any other video game. Yeah I know 2K11 is coming out next month so what I would do is rent 2K10 from Blockbuster until 2K11 is available to me. I haven't owned a video game system since the 8-bit Nintendo so it's been a while since I've really been into video games.

The thing is I don't follow basketball or the NBA.

So my question is can somebody who doesn't follow basketball or the NBA enjoy playing this game?

I can't see anyone who isn't a big basketball fan enjoying 2k10 that much, the movement is frustrating.

Either wait until 2k11 or pick up Live 10 for cheap. That's a better pick up and play title than 2k10. The movement, ballhandling and shooting are fantastic in it, which is what you want when you're not a die hard.

I urge you to grab 2k11 though, some of my puckhead friends even love the demo.

I was just about to ask that question! i see alot of ch2k8 fans that don't follow basketball love the game.

Well I think you should get an Xbox 360. Renting 2K10 until 2K11 sounds like a good idea but just know that the controls and the way that the games feel are completely different. There are also some other great games for the 360 so you might want to pick up a few maybe like Call of Duty and Halo. Maybe even try to watch an NBA game and see if you like it?

with the pc mapping is going to be as same as the 360 mapping, just get a high end pc, and 360 controller, that way its not a complete waste of money when you only use one game for a 150/200 dollar console.

I don't think you can truly enjoy the game if you have no interest in basketball.

If you think watching NBA2K10 is fun, I think you'd enjoy read basketball games as well. 2K11 will most likely be on the same case based on the demo reactions around here.

If you are set on 2K11, then just download the demo until the game comes out. Why get invested in the full features of the other game for only two weeks?

If you wish, rent both Live 10 and 2k10. Too many people here are snobs for or against either title. I say try as much as you can stand.
