I'll be downloading all the rookies off 2kshare, no worries for me at all.

Re: Not buying because of rookies?

Before they had announced all the All Time team stuff I had decided that I wasn't going to buy 2K this year because of how much I loved 2K11. The Legends really helped sell me on this year's version, but the more I thought about it the less I cared about there not being rookies. It's a pretty weak draft class anyway so there were only a handful of guys I was really interested in to begin with. Besides, every year I always wind up waiting on Association mode while I'm getting the sliders just right or waiting for a minor bug fix. Between Legends and a majorly updated My Player mode that I actually want to play for once (it helps that that's an area where realism takes a back seat anyway), I'll have lots of content to go through and have plenty of time for someone on OS to make a reasonably decent draft class and a custom roster with the rookies on it.

You don't need to create them. The rookies are in the game, just not assigned to teams or the free agency pool, thus invisible.

Just like Ricky Rubio has been in the game for 2 years, just not "enabled".

Any half-decent roster editor can fix this in about 15 minutes. I can probably have it ready for XBox 360 before release day, if I can drag myself away from My Player long enough.

This game could ship without the current stars and I'd still buy because the Legends are in it.

Re: Not buying because of rookies?

So...you want to not buy a game because it doesn't have rookies, when said rookies are likely going to be "unlocked" or patched into the game once the lockout is over?

So you're going to go a full year without any sort of basketball to tide you over until the lockout is over? I'd just get the game and wait on the patch. I'm pretty sure you can still have fun with it, even though the rookies are not "enabled" just yet.

However, if you don't have Xbox Live or PSN, then I can completely understand why you wouldn't buy it because you wouldn't be able to get the rookies anyway...

Don't do it to yourself my man. This may be the most wicked ball game in history. Not worth you missing out on that for THIS rookie class.

No I won't buy until the lockout is over. I have 2k11 I can play with that. But I may buy it a week after release for myplayer.
