The sliding (which I hate) is probably a concession so we would have *more* control and a movement model that's understandable to video gamers. Otherwise, you would actually have players frozen in place for a moment while making a sudden movement change because they're shifting their weight and having to plant a leg to do so. I would actually *love* to see this rather than the slidey movement model we have, and I think 2K needs to go in this direction next, but I don't think the people clamoring for instanteous response would.

That said, the Mavs aren't the fastest team in the world. I'm sure things will feel different with Monta Ellis and Derek Rose. Also, Mike Wang mentioned more explosiveness out of the sizeup/triple threat this year.
OK
I dont want to beat this thing to death the game is good .
but ill give you an example of quickness not matching real life .
2k11 - I have melo on the wing isolated against SHAQ !!
i can dribble ,gather , crossover , do whatever fancy little trick in the book and somehow for the most part my gather takes so long that shaq stays with me .
Now is that realistic to you ? its not to me .
Im NOT saying this is a terrible game all im saying is it still needs PLENTY work !
For the people saying this game is somehow near perfect im happy for you but i totally disagree and i hope somehow someway a dev on here will know what im talking about and get to work for next year .
no disrespect to anyone just my opinion !

The game's not perfect by far-- and I do think the movement model can still be vastly improved, but I certainly don't want to go back to glitchy, arcadey, no momentum movement.

That said, I think what you want to do should be easier this year, since Mike Wang said iso launches would be more explosive for the right players. This year's game also doesn't have the bumpy defense so driving on bigs might be easier. I know I can't always keep up with lebron or wade in the demo-- I hope it'll be the same when I control a player that's good at driving.

I take it that you want the quicker players to be quicker-- just realize that if you're expecting Shaq to be slow when you're iso-ing him with Melo, then your should expect your bigs (and other players slower than Melo) to be less responsive as well.

What I liked very much: I shot last ball missing less than 0.5s. Instead of adding 2 points to my bucket, the refs reviewed the last shot to verify if the ball released my hand before or after the buzzer. As long as refs were reviewing the play on a monitor, the entire team was kinda nervous awaiting the decision. As it was before the buzzer, refs counted the points. Kidd started to celebrate like a.... kid.

EXACTLY !
I still don't like how the players move still feels animated and less controllable i see where they're going but if that's the case where i move a player in any direction and have to wait for his movement then at least make the players who are supposed to have quickness be able to use it !!
thanks for understanding now if only 2k would get it one year instead of every year all the gimmicks and new features like madden I wish they would FIX GAMEPLAY FIRST !!!!!!!!!

Even if you can finish with a layup I will be impressed
Throw the ball into the post, press y to face up, hold turbo and move left stick toward the hoop, immediately spin the right stick with turbo held. You should be able to get something close. But it might be tough to pull off in traffic.
