For a realistic gameplay experience, try Pro/Default Slider settings

I do this every year, I always let the CPU play itself to see how to get the most realistic experience vs them, and I edit sliders to get it all the way right. I just for the 1st time tried watching it with default settings and the CPU plays much more realistic. I have NEVER used default settings before, not even last year, but try it and see what I mean, im sitting here watching Melo kill Ryan Gomes and watching BG and Amare go at it, it is just beautiful.

I contribute the problems with using simulation sliders to the "look for post players" tendancy slider and the "on ball defense" slider, so I will try to find a good balance using simulation sliders and changing a few things. So if you have been mad at how the CPU plays, try watching a CPU vs CPU game on Pro/Default and enjoy, it plays excellent.

This is the way I've been playing for the past few days. It's amazing. Check the PC for the "Greatest Games" thread... several of us have been going Pro/Default.

You play on Pro/Default settings? Is it better than Pro/Simulation?

What is the difference between Default and Simulation?

Feels a lot more natural and flowing. Check out the thread I talked abuot in the PC section. Tells about mine, and others thoughts on the settings. My stats have been spot on, and the games have been great.

Keep in mind that I'm the old school set up plays unless there's a long rebound or steal that leads to transition. So it may not be for everyone, but Pro Default is awesome. Many more loose balls, and the game feels a LOT less predetermined. I've not seen anything that looked out of place at all.

OK, I will check out that thread. It's just weird that Default gives the best stats/most realistic play instead of Simulation.

2K properly name your play styles!!!

i refuse to believe it at first but after testing it, i was like damn. wtf is right. it's just weird the best gameplay settings here are not on all-star/simulation like i used to play 2k but on pro/default.

I have also been playing on Pro Default lately and it is a lot looser than sim. The sim setting, while successful in increasing the difficult of the game, can often feel a bit too restrictive.

24-24 1st quarter Nets (me) vs Cavs (CPU). Not bad for Pro/Default ... Cavs up 32-29 right now 8:19 in the 2nd.

Haven't seen any bullcrap faders or anything unordinary. Very good game so far.

Simulation settings throw of too many ratings and tendencies, coupled with some inaccuracies here and there and the experience gets demenished from its natural flow ... I like default ... then again, most here just want a challenging AI.

I'd 10:1 rather have a free flowing game where it feels less scripted, and less canned. That's what I've been getting from those settings. Fouls sliders, and "maybe" fatigue just a little... but other than that, game is playing nearly perfect for my liking.

Opening night Association game (whoops, that's not gonna happen...LOL) on Pro-Default with one exception - all fouls maxed.

Let me know if the pic didn't show...trying to copy it via Steam.

Note the fouls - and I'd say at least 5 or 6 came from reach-ins. Howard and Thomas ended up with 5 each.

Magic put up a few too many 3's, but that's kinda been the norm on that tendency setting - and it's not too ridiculous.

Loved the flow of the game, as WTF noted.
