So designating it a "marketing ploy" makes no sense. 2K aren't complete idiots as some of you make them out to be; there's no reason whatsoever for them to say they'd deliver something that wouldn't have been expected in the first place. This isn't like in-game saves, online, etc. or other features that people have come to expect from [most] sports games. In the bigger scheme of things, imo it's not as big a deal as some are trying to elevate it to be.

Still, there's no excuse for 2K not commenting on the issue. That makes no sense to me. I'm sure updating things like tattoos and maybe hair would require scanning of some sort of head/body scanning which might normally occur at least once before the season (as it does with other sports) - obviously the lockout threw that timetable out. But there's no excuse for why nothing's been updated to date or why they've been so quiet on the issue. I think the lack of communication is what's more frustrating than anything, not the issue itself.
the first paragraph i agree with some points, 2k had the chance to put the nail in the coffin for the live series, but failed to do it....... but the second paragraph, NO WAY!
The lockout only affect 2k ability to release rookies in roster or make roster move (trades etc), but by no means did the lockout affect 2k ability to just take that down time and fix the players that needed to be fix, add tattoos to rookies, fix hairstyles, and etc.. 2k prides themselves on being a company that is all about realism, but dropped the ball bid time due to no other reason but two thing 1) NO COMPETITION 2) PURE LAZINESS, it makes you ask yourself, did 2k take a break during the lockout, were they also locked out of their company during the nba lockout? Those are good questions because what else did they do with that time (probabaly work on 2k13) but could have used that time to fix those issue..... hell, if they knew they couldnt get a roster update out while lockout was in affect, they surely could have been working on their online servers so that we could have at least enjoyed that part of the game... The lockout at least in my opinion proved that 2k got extremely relax and prideful with the lack of competition.... i just hope live brings it this year to RE-AWAKEN 2K BECAUSE 2K QUALITY IS GO DOWN HILL FASTER THAN A RUSHING AVALANCHE

They should have the mask as an optional accessory because Kobe has had his since the All Star break and 2K is yet to give it to him in any updates. I don't even see why it isn't on the list of accessories, including goggles as well.

Didn't NBA Live have the option where you could equip a face mask to players?...I think it was Live 07.

Ye, you are 100% correct. We should have been able to attach Richard Hamilton's mask to guys like Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, and Roy Hibbert (he wore it earlier in the season & no longer uses it). Also I would be happy if they gave Amar'e Stoudemire, Kirk Hinrich's goggles (John Salley 95-96 Bulls has same goggles as Hinrich by the way). They look close since they have clear plastic in the lens.

I was hesitant about posting this before since he was injured, but since he is back to full form - Gallo is severely underrated. Start with an upgrade to his PG abilities. Passing 48->70, Ball Security 53->65 and give him the following attributes:

Hesitation: Good
Behind Back: Good
Stepback: Good (already set)

Pure laziness during the lockout...? The players technically weren't part of the league during the lockout. And I'm not sure what techology is being used to capture likenesses, but I'd guess it's through some sort of visual scanning technology. I seriously doubt they have artists meticulously recreating every tattoo on every player in the league and managing to reproduce them with the exactness they do. So there wasn't much they could do during the lockout because the players weren't part of the league during that time.

The lack of competition argument is also false imo. I've asked this before, name another sports game that was as aggressive from an improvement/feature standpoint between 2011-2012. If anything people here have argued they were too aggressive. Your view of what occurred during the lockout is somewhat delusional imo because I'm not sure what you expect of them. Once the lockout ended, they were putting out multiple roster updates a week. No, they weren't perfect - but the effort was there. After the season started, they were slow but have been consistent with weekly updates. This week they put out back to back updates when most would've been satisfied with a single update. And still you seem to refuse to want to give them any credit. While they have delivered on some arena art updates, they have dropped the ball regarding player art updates. But extrapolating that out to some failure in the other areas you mention is spreading a falsehood imo. All I can say is hopefully you'll have the same level of expectation for Live 13 as you have of this game. But I seriously doubt that'll be the case.
