That's probably because it wasn't functioning. It would take a year and a day just to find a match only to be kicked out of half of them.

No, there were others. Simply go back and search the forum. The gameplay in crew was a completely different animal than playing another person one on one, team vs. team.

I'm wondering if this will be a full or half court. Although it's probably more likely a half court seeing as how a full court 3 on 3 is pretty weird.

In team ranked team up players are chosen randomly.This results in early quits. This would result in far less quiting. Guys that play CREW would really try to win since it results in a win or loss toward their CREW record. A reason why people quit in CREW is for mainly just getting blown out.

its hard to play private team up online if you dont know that many people that play 2k on your F/L, resulting in trying to go in ranked team up games trying to recruit guys to play private matches.

i play GB team up mainly because of no CREW though.

i wouldn't mind blacktop mode, but i hate the camera angles. you can't zoom the camera out like in normal game (at least you couldn't in 2k11 - i'm not sure if they even had blacktop in 2k12). I really wish they offered better camera options in blacktop mode.

yeah, i'm guessing there are performance issues with connecting 10 unique gamers in one game. i can imagine that's why they still haven't brought back crew. i'm sure it's quite an ordeal to handle a game with 10 different gamers controlling each player on the court, with 10 varying internet connections - trying to get stable online performance is probably pretty hard in that scenario.
