I just played another totally whack, insane, unrealistic game of 2K, and as much as I at times enjoy this game, I have to vent my frustrations.
Here's a list of things that shouldn't happen, but do in NBA 2K13:
-CPU has insanely fast closing speed on shots, to the point where when you're open, you're not really open b/c players basically teleport from the paint to the arc to contest your shot
-When the game wants the CPU to score on a possession, it will score, no matter what. Examples:
Here's a sequence that happened in my last game: I play great D, so Harrison Barnes throws up a late shot clock heave that misses. My super-athletic, drafted PF/C and Anderson Varejao are going up for the rebound, but the ball somehow bounces off both their hands before falling to David Lee, who came out of nowhere, and promptly makes an insanely tough fadeaway. This was so 6th or 7th BS rebound and putback that happened that game, so I lower the CPU offensive rebound slider to 1 and put my Dreb at 100. But the game still has BS ways to give the CPU the ball back after missed shots. Another example:
Klay Thompson misses a contested J, and there are 0 GSW players in the paint to get the offensive board. Easy rebound, right? Nope. My players both bounce the ball off their hands, again, causing a loose ball in the paint. Still, no GSW players in sight. But Varejao and my PF simply stand there, staring at the loose ball, and Bogut comes in, picks it up and hits an insane, contested layup. Well that's the most bull**** scenario possible, right? Nope. 2K is capable of yet more bull****. Here's another example of omplete, utter 2K bull****:
David Lee misses a tough fader, while the CPU is on a momentum swing. My guy, Marcus Morris, is boxing out their guy, Andrew Bogut. The ball falls perfectly to Morris, who catches it, amazingly enough. And the refs call over the back! What? I was boxing out! The ball fell in my direction, away from Bogut! Yet another example of the utter bull**** 2K will pull to make sure that the team that it wants to win, wins
:.
-When one team is on a momentum swing, everything goes right for them, and everything wrong for the other team. And, because of the whole timeouts switching momentum thing, or whatever it is, the whole game is basically back and forth of one team making a run, then the other making a run, the the first team makes another run. When the score is 30-30, it's not b/c of a fair, well-balanced game, it's b/c one team went on a 10-0 run, then the other went on one to make in 10-10, and so on and so on. The momentum thing needs to be tuned down about 50%.
There are other things I don't like, and things that I do like, but those are for a different thread. The things I wrote about are the things that I'm most ticked off about at this time. I apologize if I came across as rude, angry, or just like I hated the game, if it looks like that it's b/c I was so mad while I wrote this. Also, sorry for the big walls of text.
