I seriously don't get why so many people have hatred for the xbox one. Who really cares about the online authentication when the majority of of us have our xbox, phone, laptops, and tablets connected to the internet all day. BTW PS4 online multiplayer is no longer free. They will be charging as well. And the whole DRM is obsolete to me as well. I rarely trade in my games because of the rip off I get for them by gaming stores. And friends borrowing games happens even more at a rarity. Gaming wise the consoles look the same graphically to me. I'm looking to by the better, more superior console but all I keep getting is xbox hate on stuff that is really not a factor. And yes I currently have a 360, but not a fanboy. Had a PS1, PS2, then an xbox. Just someone trying to understand

People care because after MS stops supporting the X1 your system will become a brick. What happens to everything you bought after the servers go down?
People care because they are killing consumer rights. No other industry restricts what you do with what you bought. Used games are not the same as reproducing the game and selling it. If I buy a watch, and then decide to sell it on Ebay, is Seiko going to come to my house demanding a cut of the sale?
Is absurd. Is a matter of principle, and by buying it you are telling MS that is okay to keep pushing you around. That they can do whatever they please, and you will just take it happily; that's the message you are sending. Now as for the most powerful console...the PS4 has better specs than the X1, and is $100 cheaper. Exclusives you say? The PS4 will outpace MS in exclusive titles because they just have more first party studios. This happened last gen with the 360. It came out with 3rd party exclusives that went multi platform after some time. All there was left after that was Halo, Gears, and Forza. The PS3 is still releasing big exclusive games like The Last of Us, Gran Turismo 6, and Beyond Two Souls. If you like the X1 exclusives more then thats a matter of taste, and of course you can do whatever you want. Just be inform before you make your decisions.

Re: NBA 2K14: What Platform Will You Get?

For the past two consoles 2K/VC seems to have (unofficialy) built their games around Microsofts machines then ported them to sonys. Has anyone gotten any indications this will be the case for next gen? If I get one that will probably be the deciding factor for me, The one NBA2K seems to run best on.

It was just easier to make games for the xbox 360, and the ps3 was designed to be difficult to make games for, so developers would work on the PS3 version more, something like that I can't fully remember why sony made that decision. But the xbox was just the lead console(the console that the game is developed on) and the PC and ps3 just got bad ports.

The PS4 design it's much easier for developers to make their games, so multiplatforms games will most likely look the same, so I don't think it's going to be like this gen when the ps3 version looked inferior. Plus they have similar hardware.

PC and PS4. I do however hope that the next gen 2k is ported to PC as oppose to the current gen version

People kill me with the "when the server gets turned off" argument. I highly doubt that Microsoft will be that stupid to turn off the XB1 servers if millions of customer are still using it when they launch the next console.

How long was it before they turned off the original Xbox servers after the launch of the 360? Plus, when I buy new a console, it's RARE that I ever go back to the previous console. People who continue to play older consoles are a very small minority.
