Re: Having hard time deciding between 2k11 and 2k12

I got 2k11 on PC a few weeks ago and the controls are superior to 2k12 and 13. Something wrong happened to the momentum and physics after 2k11; its just unrealistically slow and bogged down by too many animations. In 2k11, if I want to go somewhere I just go there; in 2k13 the guy would walk in slow motion for a full second, then jog, then turn and do a really slow sideways walk. In 2k11, there are less delays on shooting, blocking, dribbling, rebounding, etc.

I don't see them changing the physics and momentum in 2k14 or beyond that much; they seem to think the animation-heavy route is the way to go. I think I'll keep 2k11 installed on my PC and hunt for updated rosters every year, which are tough to find but they exist. I'll still check out the new 2ks and most likely will purchase them(30 bucks on PC- thats the price of a nice dinner for something I'll pour hours into), but 2k11 is still the apex of basketball control in a game.

The graphics in 2k11 actually hold up very well. I'd say its just a hair below 2k13, and the animations are a lot less floaty.

Personally, I have a hard time playing earlier iterations of the series since I think the newest one always has improvements I would miss going back.

I'd say 2k12, since you get more players and more teams to play around with. Also the game was an improvement, gameplay wise, over 11

Go with 2k11 simply because the defense isn't a complete joke.

2k11 with 2k13 post moves and some other features like my team = most amazing game ever

Also the 2k11 roster ratings were better and 3pt shooters weren't gods. None of this dropping 70 in 5min quarters bs shooting 60% from 3

I enjoyed 2k12. But the gameplay got to easy, if you are looking for a bit more of a challenge I would say 2k11. It is 2k either way thought cannot go wrong

Thanks every1.. This will be my 1st Nba2k game so all the things every1 is saying I mayn't be able to tell .. On 2k12 it looks like the my player maybe have little more detail than 2k11. Kinda liked not having to do all the extras stuff to start career. Also being able to play the legend mode with any player

Thanks again

you people are out of your gourd if youre saying 2k11 had no exploits. you could exploit the cpu defense a million times a game and they wouldn't adjust.
