Does changing tendancies do anything?

I tried changing the tendencies of a few guys on a couple of different teams to make them shoot more 3pters, i even enhanced there 3pt ratings a little bit to help. My reasoning is because im about to start a new pg account on mycareer, and he's going to be athletic so i want to have floor spacing so i can go to work in the paint, sorta like how gs did with jarret jack, and sas does with tony parker. I noticed though when i made a practice mycareer just to see if my roster changes stuck, guys who i basically made catch shoot guys, are still trying to put it on the floor and drive more than what i would like them to, even guys on opposing teams who i made to be more or less 3pt line spot up shooter type guys, are barely shooting more than like 2-3 3pters a game. What else besides the 3pt attribute and 3pt shot tendency do i need to change?
