Re: Best 2K games of all-time?

IMO,

11 -360
8 - 360

12-pc with ubr
14 - cg pc- ubr is coming so may/will move ahead of 12

13-pc
07 - 360 - most amazing jump from previous yr .."twas the night before..." video!!!
(If I remember correctly).
would love to see same jump in yr 2 of NG, but doubt it

3,4,5,9,10 not very good at all with 4 being the low point

NG14- worst off-court 2k ever. first 2k ever returned for me

I really like the right stick dribbling. I try to play the game like real basketball. What can't you make 14 do that 11 did out of the box?
1. 2k11
2. 2k12
3. 2k10 or 2k14

Until 2k brings back signature dribbling I can't put the other games above 11 or 12. 2k11 had the signature dribbling and realistic shot animations. In 2k11 you couldn't just turbo around and jack up threes or turbo into the paint with ease. 2k12 was a good game sans the speed issue which really hurt that game. If 14 had the dribbling, and shooting animations of 11 it would be higher up. Also, the contact layups of 14 are not very realistic.

And to answer the question 11 had sig dribbling and 14 has the every player is chris paul dribbling. That is one main thing 14 doesn't have.

Re: Best 2K games of all-time?

NBA 2K3 Gameube

NBA 2K7 Xbox 360

NBA 2k12 Xbox 360

NBA 2K14 Xbox One/PS4

In that order.

Sorry even with the instability of the next gen its still got the best graphics animation and gameplay out of all

SCARY to think how good NBA 2K15 might be

Re: Best 2K games of all-time?

This question is tricky to me. I'd have to go:

2K11 Most exciting fresh gameplay ever in a BB game!

2K13 Best overall gameplay and options off the court ever in a BB game!

2K14 PS4 Best graphics ever in a BB game!

I have to go with my overall fun factor and choosing the game I could NOT wait to play again and again which is 2K13.

Talking Re: Best 2K games of all-time?

I've played these NBA 2K:
PS2: 2K5, 2K8, 2K9
PC: 2K10, 2K11, 2K12, 2K13

As far as best NBA 2K (That I have played):
2K11

It is difficult to choose beyond that one, because I don't feel that strongly about any I played before or after it.

The main modes that I play are 90% Association and 10% My Player. I even wrote a FAQ for My Player for NBA 2K11. You can check it out at gamefaqs.com: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/995393-nba-2k11/faqs

I didn't get deeply involved in changing the sliders for the games. If you have a set of sliders and rosters that make 2K13/2K14 have good gameplay, then please post links to these, along with gameplay videos that demonstrate them in action.

I can't answer this question. I've not played 14. I've only seen videos of it on youtube, and the game doesn't impress me. Gameplay feels weak beyond 2K11. (Please note that this is only my opinion.)

Strong gameplay involves a lot of things: stopping the break, defending the paint, double-teaming, rebounds, midrange/longrange accuracy, scoring in traffic, breaking ankles, etc. All of these things (and more) have to be done in an appropriate frequency and balance with each other. I don't necessarily see this in any game, to be honest, but 2K11 gets closer than the others that I have played.

What does FB mean?

Also, you can get offensive rebounds in 2K11. They're harder to get because the defensive positioning is good, and you have to start working at it before the shot goes up. They're easier to get if you're controlling a player other than the shooter, and can get position. If you're controlling the shooter, then, yeah, your odds of getting an offensive rebound will be low, as your CPU teammates are likely in bad position to go for the board once you switch control from the shooter.

As far as sim stats, I know that rebounding is an issue. So, if you can provide strong gameplay and strong stats, then please recommend a good version with sliders and rosters that provide a suitable result.

Thanks for your help.

FB means fastbreak points, which there was none in 2k11. NBA2k14 IMO is heads above what any other basketball game has ever been, as I havent enjoyed a basketball game this much since CH2k8.

I am a offline gamer only, so I could see where online gamers might have really liked that game.Being a Association only guy 11 was one of my worst experiences with a 2k basketball game.

My feeling is everyone's skill set and play style is different so its best to make your own to match what you want. This year is the 1st time I havent had to remake the game with sim setting sliders that come with the game, as 2k did a descent job for once. Fouls and shot tendency sliders is where the game sliders get the most messing with, as once they are set you can get some nice realistic games.
