I've been saying this since 2K11.

It's really weird how 2K6 looks almost like real life from certain angles due to its lighting with exception to the bad models and rough animations.

2K11 had probably the best balance of lighting, detail, and likenesses. Then they redid everything in 2K12 and the lighting and skin shaders have looked underwhelming since.

Conspiracy theory-- they made 2K12-14 look worse so next-gen would be a bigger leap. I don't really believe that. But it's weird how the games got less realistic over time.

Anyway, I still think they need to play up the oily reflections on the players. They could afford to be brighter. Sometimes players have skin reflections that are quite bright under arena lights. I don't see that in 2K14 next-gen.

I also thought Durant's next-gen screenshot was a photo at first.

Besides the blue looking a bit faded on next-gen (maybe due to angle and lighting), I can't find anything wrong with either picture. It simply looks amazing.
