Initially i was disappointed 2k removed the long beloved association mode!...but i must admit i am very excited about MyGm Mode!.

I am still very skeptical about having the cpu handling 29 other teams as 2k has never gotten the Trade logic,Minutes,Free Agent signings,Draft Choices, right in there previous games!...it would truly ruin the mode if those legacy bugs were left in!...

If they have handled those issues, then yes this mode may actually be enjoyable and we all might have our own exclusively dynamic associations like we have always wanted!,and only having to manage one team could actually be really fun and challenging to meet the demands of your players and franchise!.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is even tho i am excited for the new mode,i know if things arn't spot on and we start seeing Cleveland making trades so Kyrie Irving backs up Chris Paul at the PG spot....The community will come down on 2k like a sledgehammer!...

Hopefully they've been working on this which is why current gen association hasn't gone anywhere.

But let's be real, **** gonna be buggy as hell and half assed.

to address the OP, i'm hoping to turn burke/favors, griffin, and cousins all into legit superstars. no fun in having key players on your roster that no one else wants

I love it if it is taking the Madden style route but I would much prefer a MyAssociation than a MyGM. What I'd love to know is what the CAPs look like in comparison to other players, can we use custom rosters and whether or not we can still play any game via League Pass and can we still edit everything that we can on CG.

Let's face it, it's unlikely trade logic would be completely fixed. We see bad trade logic in pretty much every sports game, even the most simulation oriented managerial games like Football Manager seem to struggle with it. It's going to take an effort from the player not to exploit it. But if the AI generally makes good trades with itself that would be fine.

Trade logic never seems to incorporate how many years is left on a deal on any other than a superficial level (decreasing the numeric trade value). It would be nice if we saw teams only initiate and agree to trades if they had some reason behind it. Just swapping players because they are of similar ability isn't enough. However if those players fit the team better position wise, or were on better contracts the team would make the decision based on that. Trading your superstar should only happen if he was demanding a trade or was in the last year of his contract.

And it would be nice if all you had to do to create a team of 90 overall starters wouldn't be just to start a rebuild, play your unready prospects 40 minutes a game to make them superstars and then grab the top guy from UFA when you're ready. I guess you might get fired in MyGM for this plan but just acquiring top 5 picks might still be easy enough to make this happen.

Which brings me to the draft stock. Although you can create your own to make the problem go away, I generally don't have the time to create/search for a decent draft class especially when you can't directly preview a draft class in the association mode. It would be fun it every draft wasn't as top heavy as they are and if lower pick players weren't just worse across the board but had an outstanding talent that made them worth picking. There seem to be no shooting, playmaking, rebounding or defensive specialists but just guys that suck at everything.

And I hope they have some incentive for us to turn player roles on this year, as it has been a lost cause for a few years. For example teams like the Nets would instantly dissolve into chaos with the talent on the bench not getting starting minutes. If real life teams can't exist with the player roles then it's worthless.

If they want to succed on this mode, it should be bug-free in the first instance.

And then i highly doubt but they should have a good look at what Football Manager has offered to players for years and blend that with basketball. That's how they can be really succesfull.
