I agree with you. I've started going down in there and manually rebounding. He's going to get his on the offensive glass from time to time but this year it seems you have to take matters into your own hands even more so.

The first time I played Philly a few weeks ago he got zero offensive boards. He's a 99 offensive rebounder and of course on HOF mode, you are missing 1 out 2 shots.

Biggest thing on offensive glass is you will rebound open shots you miss but not necessarily the contested ones because everyone's covered up and in proper position.

The better shots you get the more offensive rebounds he will get.

Also, I've been told by alabamarob that the more I post with Hibbert and get him his own shot, the more boards I will get with him too. Still working on the post game right now.

I wouldn't mind giving up rebounds so much if the guys would 1) at least jump and 2) run and get great rebounding position like the offensive rebounders do.

Really though this is the game engine. Your team takes it cues from you. If you are standing around, they will too. Hibbert probably still won't jump on defensive end though for boards! lol.

I have notice just like IRL with this game the more Hibbert is involved early on in the offense the more he rebounds in th egame. Hibbert is a lot like that IRL, where if he isnt involved early on he will disappear at times.
When I qst got the game I was lucky if Hibbert was getting 4 boards a game, but the last game I played I got either 13 or 15 rebounds with Hibbert. I have found that having both the off and def rebounds at 55 for you and the AI at 45 for both off and def makes a big difference. For some reason the AI is jacked up on rebounding and if you dont tome them down you will always get out rebounded, or atleast I do. With me being the pacers I should be winning the boards most games cause they are a greta rebounding team. I hav ebeen playing mostly against the Euro teams and when they were out reboundign me I knew there was a problem, lol.

Re: Coach2K's NBA2K14 Hall of Fame Thread

The C2K Pacers knocked off their first hall of fame CPU team this evening in vs the 76ers in a 96-85 win. Philadelphia was a worthy adversary taking many tries to get them defeated and I almost decided to throw in the towel on the whole hall of fame project since even I have to admit that it was very difficult.

Instead, I opted to see where I could improve and finally decided on three strategies to knock them off.

1. I did start adjusting the Coach profiles. However, during my games vs the Sixers, there were several updates of the rosters and in the latest update, Frank Vogel was updated in a fashion that I was leaning. So while I in the end adjusted them, in my final victory it was the out of the box coaching profile.

2. I opted to adjust the defensive settings and deny the ball to the three point shooters and sag off the centers with Hibbert.

3. I decided to run the 3 out 2 in offense with a couple of additional plays.

In learning how to win, I also had to figure out how to improve my defense. Especially in the paint. I learned that to contest shots in the paint, I had much more success hitting triangle after the CPU left it's feet and also learning which guys to sag off of as well as defending the CPU when it went one on one with me.

In the end, I realized that I was playing the CPU too tight. And sagged off most everyone.

I also changed from auto subbing to manual subbing.

This was a great game with me getting control of the game early. At the half I had an 8 point lead. In the third, the CPU went on a 15-5 run. By the end of the quarter though, I had regained control to keep a five point lead.

The game was won in the fourth quarter as I went 10/17 from the floor, 3/7 from three and 4/5 from the line and kept them to 1 offensive rebound in the quarter.

I'll put the recording up of the game as soon as I get a chance to render it.

In the meantime, here are the box scores from this game.

Good game HOF CPU.

Updated ladder:

Note: the difficulty level refers to how hard it would be to learn that team. It's also based on day 1 rosters as it's too time consuming to go in and update the list.

Re: Coach2K's NBA2K14 Hall of Fame Thread

Here's my complete game vs the HOF CPU 76ers. I was actually pretty happy with the box score above from a "pretty" box score point of view that's not too bad.

I think my offense needs polish but defensively the HOF CPU forced me to figure out how to defend them properly and so I feel more comfortable on defense than before as a result of my study of the sixers.

Those who watch the game will notice that most of the time, I am just standing there doing nothing on defense and you'd think that to hold the CPU to under 90 would take stifling, high pressure with traps and presses, etc. But it doesn't. In fact, this stay at home defense in position between your man and the basket along with challenging shots is all that is required to win games if you have an efficient offense.

Offensively, I still need work especially in the post. I ran the freelance 3 out 2 in formation with two or three plays mixed in.

Now that I have my first victory vs the HOF CPU under my belt, I'm convinced that it still mirrors the game you bring it and this was a great game. Because people force the tempo so much, its really why people hate the mode so much.

Because I took the crowd out of the game, it's pretty quiet. For you game analyzers out there, if you take the time to watch the game, feel free to let me know what you don't like as usual.

It's a long video and uncommentated. I wanted everyone to see the footage from start to finish to see everything that happened during the game.

So, if you are so inclined, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the game.

Re: Coach2K's NBA2K14 Hall of Fame Thread

C2K's Pacers went to Utah to face the HOF CPU Jazz and beat them easily at one point leading by 19 points.

The Pacers dominated nearly every statistical category and put up double figures with seven different players.

I earned a lot of confidence in my work against the Sixers and applied what I learned there in this game. During this game I actually earned the trophy The Closer as well which is keeping a team from scoring in the last two minutes of the game so that was pretty cool. (In the last game I picked up block party)

Defensively, the game plan was the same. Deny shooters and sag off with Hibbert.

Great game CPU!

Next up is the Orlando Magic.

Here are the box scores:
