Nobody thought you were trying to swindle people. Personally I was just trying to clarify the issue.

It's a real game breaker for dynasty. The frustrating thing for gamers is that there are good features in Live and good features in 2K, but then all these little problems. Things that work one year stop working the next year. It seems that new features come along with broken basic functions. Players coming back into the lineup after an IR stint is pretty basic.

Hopefully others will chime in on this to urge you to fix the problem this year.
Fully agree with everything you stated. I for one, am greatly disappointed in both game developers (EA and 2K) in that they created all this hype surrounding "DNA" and "Living Rosters", leading gamers (speaking for myself here) to believe these regularly updated rosters/statistics would be incorporated into an active dynasty/season. My favorite part of sports gaming (baseball, football, basketball, hockey, etc…) is playing the dynasty/season mode as I could care less about playing a "pick-up game". I hope that next year's Live installment will come through with the capability I was expecting this year. BTW, I am currently playing 2K9 (PS3) but was thinking about picking up Live as well (not so sure now though?). Gladly welcome recommendations (pros & cons). Thanks

Have you ever called your buddy "my man?" My man is what the used car salesman calls you.

But to clarify, I didn't think Stephen was trying to swindle. I just wanted to clarify the situation. His last explanation was clear - disappointing that they won't fix this basic function, but he gave the answer.

EA is being stand up in that these guys are spending their time answering questions here. They're not just answering easy questions, and they're giving honest answers even if the news is bad. That is appreciated and gives good reason for fans of their games to remain fans of their games. I'm impressed with Stephen in his efforts to communicate.

The IR situation in Dynasties will remain frustrating and will keep bringing up the thought of "why wasn't it addressed before the game was released?"

In 2003 I worked for EA on the Madden Challenge. One day in New York 2000 people showed up for a 500 person tournament. We could only accommodate 512 people, but the registration system allowed too many to register. EA wanted to hide the issue, but in the morning when the angry people mobbed the area to get an explanation, I told them the truth. The truth was that 2000 people had been registered, the truth was that only the first 512 were going to be able to play. For the other 1500 or so we'd try to have pickup contests throughout the day so they could win game copies and other prizes, but unfortunately they wouldn't be able to play in the tournament.

The EA person responsible for the tournament was livid that we had told the people about the error with the registration system. She attacked me, literally, clawing at me and digging her nails into my arms. But then, after warning her about inappropriate physical contact, I had some of the people talk to her. They expressed that while they were still upset and frustrated, they were impressed with EA for at least telling them the truth of the situation. She became happy.

A truthful answer, even though it is bad news, shows respect. We still won't like the news, but at least we have the answer.

I feel where you are coming from now that you have went into detail. Gotta respect Steph for coming straightforward even throughout all the critisisim and negative feedback that he get's on an almost daily basis. At least we now know. Peace!!!!

There are no plans to fix it in a patch this year and I hate to use the words "it'll be fixed for next year," but it will.

Is this ideal? Absolutely not. I'm being clear my man, not trying to go around the issue.

Guys, don't assume we're trying to "swindle" you here, or tell you half / truths. There'd be absolutely no reason for us to be here if we were doing that.

We're being honest, and sometimes the truths we tell you will not be the things you want to hear.

well, if i dont' mind not having ANY injuries occured in the dynasty, is there an option BEFORE i start the dynasty so no players will get injury in my dynasty, and no one will stay in IR list forever?

You can turn injuries off.

Re: Season play is basically useless...

From the answers people were giving I assumed you can control the CPUs' rosters in Dynasty. If so then you can constantly monitor IR and recoveries then restore people into the lineup when they're well.

If not then the only option is injuries off.

No, you can't control the CPU's roster in dynasty. The only way to play dynasty without having guys go on the IR forever is to turn injuries off.

I can live with it. Obviously it would be better if we could control the cpu's roster, or if the cpu had the ability to manage it's IR list. But I understand making a video game where everything works perfectly is pretty much impossible. Hopefully next year this will be fixed.
