If you're an assistant head coach you would only be in charge of limited tasks like designing the offense (and creating the team's playbook) or defense and maybe being in charge of practices and training.
If you're a head coach you would have the overall control of the team's identity on offense and defense, starting (and other ingame) lineups and minute allocation, depth charts, practices, and make suggestions to the GM about team needs or player that they need to focus on or target.
If you're a GM you're in charge of the team building by making signings, trades, scouting; signing the franchise's personnel (head coach, assistants, scouts, trainers, doctors, etc.
If you're a head coach/GM you've total control of the aforementioned.

You could begin in one position and get offered to another team with a better position, get released from your position, or get a better role with your current team. Perhaps you're a successful assistant with potential and another team offers you to be their new head coach, maybe you were recently fired head coach and another team offers you to be an assistant in charge of their offense, or you could be a coach in a good team and a bigger franchise offers you the coach/GM position.
It'd add a new dynamic to the mode and would make it fresh. It'd also help if current coaches and GMs get promoted/released and new people appear to the mode.

Been playing live almost daily since the demo. Most mode I've played is pro am and think this could be a stand alone game.


Pro-am wishes
-Dedicated Squads with leaderboards, playoffs, tournaments, stats, scouting, custom jerseys and courts.
-Decrease contested 3pt shots
-Continue to allow better defense for alley oops- Last update really helped but still overpowered
-Decrease long pass accuracy-Again last update did improve but still more needed-too many fast breaks from full court passes that are perfect.
-Allow all jerseys and team color apparel/shoes to be worn
-Keep the clothing sports related.
-Fix when a player backs out/gets disconnected. The CPU wont inbounds/pass etc.
-Add a voting/rating system to keep tabs on players so you know who to avoid/play or vote off team.
-Win by 2




Misc
-Physics doesn't seem to include shoulder area allowing for easy paths to the basket
-Use face scan for custom fans and enemy fans that always sit courtside in arenas of choice
-Fix fast break cheese in online games
-Off ball control in live 10
-Colors need to pop more
-Crowd is too stagnant-people should be moving in aisles to seats/concession, signs, big heads and groups standing-not everyone at the same time.
-Custom camera

Defending at the rim could use a nice touch up and the pro-am should be more in-depth next year. Also allow to play 3v3 games as well in pro-am. And some half court game would be sweet

Controls:
-ability to control what type of pass(bounce, lob, lead passes)
-ability to do a floater on command
-quick play options on dpad. Idk why we can't call isn't or post ups anymore
-camera relative control option
Animations :
-not enough signature animations for jumpers, layups, dribble moves, size ups, dunks. Just a lack of animations. I see the same 8 or 9 jumpers across the league
-overhaul and redo entire post game. The hook shots and back them animations are wonky
-no ankle breaker animations
-several contextual animations missing especially in the rebounding game
-add off ball moves
-redo box out animations
-passing is improved from previous years but the animations are still wonky, stiff, and robotic.
-and please fix the jump ball. It disgusts me every game when I know the pg is gonna get the ball in the same exact spot every time
