Let's talk about the passing in this game

Playing on superstar.... way too many interceptions. No slider options either.

Ball movement is rough. Defenders with their backs turned shouldn't make every interception.

Passing doesn't seem very responsive either. Can't just zip the ball around.

I think it definitely needs improvement... would help the flow of the offense.

Just like I have to tell my boys on the teams I coach, stop throwing the cross court passes...they get picked off all the time...lol. Passing seems zippy to me...not sure what you may be doing wrong, X or A depending on what system is a normal pass, O or B is a bounce pass and Y or triangle is a lob pass. You can also hit pass while pressing toward the next person with the ball in the air to have them pass it as soon as they catch it. But seriously if you throw cross court passes near defenders they're going to get picked 90% of the time, just like they would in real life.

I did some testing and I feel like the CPU stealing slider helps this. I agree that you can't just huck the ball around though. My complaint with passing is the way the AI handles who it thinks your aimed at to pass is pretty brutal. Ive had to teach myself to be more efficient at icon passing which works but it could use work

The higher difficulties usually the cpu has more cheese. I have not had any issues yet with passing on allstar. I mix icon passing, bounce passes, regular passes and make sure my guys have some space before trying to get them the ball. I dont attempt risky cross court passes, and just let things come naturally out of plays, drive and kicks.

the game IMO makes you play smart and throwing down court is risky. I love the strategy. Calling plays helps big time.

My only complaint with passing is that the lob pass doesn’t work well when a player is posted up and fronted by the defender. It usually gets stolen even when I try to throw it over their head.

I have the CPU Steal slider at 0 and the Human at 10.

I still see way more steals than I'd like to but lowering them helps a lot.

I feel the passing is not really responsive which leads to a lot of turnovers unless you are using icon passing (which I don't).

Also, I have yet to be able to throw a lob (holding down Triangle on the PS4) doesn't seem to work for me. Not sure why.

You don't hold it down, you just press it normally.

For some strange reason the game doesn't let you pass if you hold down the button too long.
