Official Charlotte Bobcats Den (2005-06)

We had a great first season. We were competitive in almost every regular season game. We produced the 2004-05 Rookie Of the Year. When last we left...

Now, we hold two of the top picks in this years draft...where do we go?

Bernie isnt afraid to pull the trigger and move up to get his man as we all saw last year. This year his man is Marvin Williams, if we cant trade up to get him, no way we trade up to get Paul with all the good PG's on the board. We take Felton at 5 and then Wright or Granger at 13. I'd be happy with that draft, 2 starters and we can push the tempo. Ok can run the floor so can Wallace and whatever SG/SF we draft should be able to. Hopefully with Felton it will lead to more easy baskets which will help us win more of the games that we should.

I still don't recognize our need for a point guard while almost everyone else does. My draft board looks like this:

1.Marvin Williams
2.Gerald Green
3.Martell Webster

Charlotte despises their current 5th position as they feel there are really only 4 quality players in the draft: Bogut, Marvin Williams, Chris Paul and Deron Williams. And since those four are likely to be gone when they select 5th, they want to move up. Portland, continuing with their youth movement is high on Gerald Green, and may end up moving down two spots and acquiring a future first from Charlotte.

Charlotte really likes Texas A&M shooting guard Antoine Wright, so there's a good chance they will take him with their second selection in the lottery (#13).

Interesting bit.

That better not happen. I want Gerald Green, and we don't need a point guard right now. If we were to move up, who would we draft at 3?

And who the heck is Antoine Wright? Can someone give me a scouting report?

As I look at NBA Draft.net's mock draft, I notice they have us picking Gerald Green AND Antoine Wright.

I'm scared we'll lose a lot of important players from last year such as Gerald Wallace, Jason Kapono if we do something like this.

I'm in the same boat you are. There's nothing wrong with playing another year or two with Brevin Knight or Jason Hart at the point. If I were Bernie, I'd do everything I possibly could to get Marvin Williams. He could be to the Bobcats what Larry Johnson was the Hornets when he first got there...but even better.

So TJ, if we were to pickup Marvin with the 5th pick, who would you want with the 13th?
