Thanks Bentley! Just curious, how do you have USM fairing in cUSA?

I could see Boise, Fresno, Utah State, or San Jose taking it this year, but we have predicted Fresno to win it (they have loads of talent returning).

thanks for the heads up, I think if I do decide to restart I might either use Hawai'i once again (grew up in Hawai'i), Nevada, or UNLV since I currently live in Vegas.

Honestly, I have them fairing much better than most people probably do, and I am not just saying that since your a Southern Miss fan. They were the first team in FBS history last year to go from 12 wins one year to 0 wins then next, but I felt like they caught a lot of bad breaks. They clearly struggled under Ellis Johnson, but last year they lost a lot on defense (5 of their top 8 tacklers) and their starting QBs to graduation. I think Todd Monken is jumping into a better situation then Johnson had. On top of that they had 3 close losses and several other games where they blew leads including being up on Louisville 17-6 in the second quarter (believe that was the monsoon game), despite only completing 2 passes all game long! Additionally, they had a 424 to 310 edge in total yards verse Boise but lost by 26 due to 5 turn overs. They also lead UAB at half and had a huge yardage edge vs UTEP (532-359), but lost once agai because of turnovers. I think they lost that UTEP game on a failed 2 pt conversion at the end. Clearly they were young and have talent and return 9 on defense (assuming some guys are eligible this year) and they suffered 3 close losses last year, which is a sign of a turn around this year. Also they were -16 in turnovers which indicates they were young and no way they will be that poor again this season. This stat will be the biggest turn around for them, which will lead to a big turn around in wins.
Last year snapped a streak of 18 consecutive winning seasons for the Golden Eagles, and I actually predict them to possibly get back to a bowl game this season despite the fact they play at Nebraska, at Arkansas, and at Boise out of the conference (seriously, who made that schedule?). I think they actually could surprise at Boise (VERY young Boise team).
On the flip side, they skip out on playing the top 3 teams in the West, so that is an in conference scheduling plus. I see them winning 5-6 games and finishing third in the east behind Marshall (Rakeem Cato is legit btw) and ECU. I could also see UAB possibly sneaking ahead of them in the East.

I hope Hawai'i can rebound under Chow. I grew up watching a lot of Hawai'i games since they were always on late. I have a lot of memories coming back from SC games and turning on the TV and watching Hawai'i since they were the only ones on haha. Plus I am a fan of Chow.
UNLV could be interesting this year. They actually have some talent on offense and it is by far the most experienced team that Hauch has had to work with in five years (18 total returning starters). Look for them to possibly win some games that many people do not expect them too.

that's awesome! I'm hoping so too, I like Chow so far. Plus they can't do much worse than last season haha. My grandma is a season ticket holder, so I got to watch every home game since the Dan Robinson days. They were awesome seats too, 45 yard line, 14th row. That undefeated season was amazing to watch, just wish they had put up a little fight against Georgia. I don't know much about UNLV, but I will definitely be following them much closer now that I live here. Alright i'm done hijacking your thread, once again thank you guys for all your hard work with these, can't wait to check them out

Re: M & B's Ratings Edited Rosters!

Been playing a lot of games with these roster and I love em can't wait til them to be finished. Could really skip the sunbelt conference those teams are rated bad enough as is. Almost can't afford to be scaled down.

If someone could take the coaching edits done by "coachmeta" (that's the name of the roster on share) and incorporate them on these rosters we'd be in dynasty heaven. The whole both coordinator being rated half the head coach rating is terrible. And with the rosters being scaled to separate the great from the mediocre the coaches should get the same treatment.

Again thanks for all the work you guys out in.

It sounds like they plan on making some changes to coach levels. Otherwise I also plan on making some extensive edits to coach levels. Please see excerpt of an earlier post of mine below for details.

In order to take my own subjectivity out of it, I based it off of 2013 coach ratings put out by publications. Athlon and The Sporting News both ranked all coaches 1-126, and Sports Illustrated put out a top 25 with honorable mentions as well. I've taken a composite of those three to get a rank order of all coaches. I then apply that rank order to the following tiers of coach levels.

Level 46-55 (top 6 coaches)
Level 41-45 (next 15 coaches)
Level 36-40 (next 15 coaches)
Level 31-35 (next 15 coaches)
Level 26-30 (next 15 coaches)
Level 21-25 (next 15 coaches)
Level 16-20 (next 15 coaches)
Level 10-15 (next 15 coaches)
Level 6-10 (next 15 coaches)

I will also adjust coordinator levels, with the majority being level 0-10, but with coordinators from more major teams being more in the 10-20 area, and elite coordinators (think Kirby Smart, Chad Morris, etc) being even higher.

Re: M & B's Ratings Edited Rosters!

Bentley, it seems you do your research! A few problems lead to last years 0-12 record. The main reason was: the players never bought in to Ellis Johnson's plan. He liked to throw players under the bus.
I agree about getting back to a bowl. They will probably win 6 or 7. The reason we have @Neb, @Ark, @Boise was Ellis Johnson/ former AD Richard Giannini (who suggested signing Johnson). Giannini left athletics in the red over 2 mil. To fire Johnson, we sold the Nebraska HOME game back to Nebraska. That paid Johnson off.
The way I see cUSA ending up: Marshall winning conference. Tulsa winning west.
Also, you mention returning starters. Returning starters on off is a bit wonky. Ex: Most only count 1 for TBs, but 5/6 guys from last years backfield. WRs: 6/8 guys return. The QB expected to be our main guy, Lloyd (when healthy) played last year (until hurt) OL: this is where we are NEW...1.5/5 guys return (.5 is V. Brown; he had a few starts and some spot PT) On Def: they lose Jamie Collins.....and now J. Cotton to grades. They lost some rotation guys, making DL thin.
If we stay health: we can win as many as 8 games...We own the worse fall in history (12-2;0-12). I wish we could get the best turnaround, but we would have to be the Upset Kings.
