8 minute quarters.

After much playing I have settled on these. Its the most realistic I can come up with. If you have a decent team, play to your strengths, and play well, you can beat most teams. If you are way worse than the team you are playing, if you do not have a good game plan to play to what your team is good at (this is super important), or you just aren't playing well you will lose.

Just like real football.

The stats are relatively realistic in terms of scores and player statistics.

Some games, you just can't miss and the opponent can't do anything right. That means a blowout. Some games, the opponent can't miss, and no matter what you do they just keep making plays. Just like real football.

I usually play with a good A- to A team, and usually go 10-12 wins. Championships are hard. You have to have a good team, play well, and get some luck. Just like real football.

It can seem too easy if you are playing with a superteam. It can seem too hard if you are playing against a superteam.

Recruiting is royally important, as to build a team to your strengths, the styles you like to play can really raise your ceiling. While building the team you have to play to the players that you have, and know how to use them. Just like real football.

I also love the feature of being able to change the conferences, as in all my dynasties the conferences make geographical and rivalry sense. Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M are all in the Big 12 but West Virginia isn't, and USC and UCLA will always be in the PAC12.

As much as I love real college football, I love my idealized version that I can take part in in NCAA 14. In my world, Notre Dame and Michigan still play every year, there is no transfer portal and NIL is still done the old fashioned way, with handshakes and dufflebags of cash.

This is my NCAA14 experience.
