Re: GoCanes44's Varsity Sliders(Yes Varsity!)

Heres a reply from a user at MM that used the sliders:

I just finshed OU(me) vs Texas with the varsity sliders on 7 minutes, and I have to say that was the most fun I've had since I got this game. They even got a safety on me!

Final Score
(Cotton Bowl- Nuetral Territory)

Texas 36
OU 35

Vince Young rallied his troops, drove down the field, and with 3 seconds left Texas kicked a field goal to beat me by a point. I wasn't sure if I wanted to break my controller or give it a big fat kiss.

Here's the game stats on 7 minute quarters...

TEXAS/OKLAHOMA
1st downs: 19/18
Total offense: 445/392
Rushing: 33-209/31-165 (Vince scrambled for 40+ during their last drive against deep coverage)
Passing: 18-29-3/11-17-2
Pass yds: 236/227 (I use alot of medium range passing)
Sacked: 3/2
3rd down: 6-12/1-5
4th down: 0-0/1-2
2 pts: 0-0/0-0
Redzone: 3-3-0/4-4-0
Turnovers: 2/2
Fumbles-Lost: 1-1/0-0
Intercepted: 1/2
PR yds: 28/23
KR yds: 71/118
Total yds: 544/533
Punts-Avg: 3-40.3/2-47.0
Penalties: 1-10/0-0 (Left them at default 50% for this test)
T.O.P.: 14:59/13:01

Needs some minor tweaking. A few more punts and penalties and I could be all set. If you're scoring too easy with these sliders you might wanna raise Knockdowns, and/or lower RB Ability, and/or lower WR catching.

To make a point before I hit the sack (shoulda been in bed about 5 hours ago). I really felt like it was the Red River Shootout and every possession was critcal. Peterson broke a couple 20-30yd runs, but I just failed to put em away. Tomorrow I'll try tweaking them to my liking, but these have alot of potential, in my opinion. Take it or leave it. Thx for posting them man.

1 more thing. You guys and your deep ball gripes, you do understand that you can move the secondary back to play deep, right? Don't line up cover 2 man-bump & run, and you won't get burned.

I think I really found a set of sliders that I can work with, maybe a tweak here or there but thats it! Hey motown did u make any tweaks or did you use the house sliders for that Mich/OSU game which looks great!

Re: GoCanes44's Varsity Sliders(Yes Varsity!)

Just played my first Dynasty game with these. I am in season two and B.J Manley is my impact RB with a 85 rating, leading the NCAA in rushing and TD's using a set of heisman sliders up untill now.

My first dynasty game with my varsity sliders -

FAU(me) - 38
MTSU - 17

This game really confused me, because playing as Memphis Deangelo Williams had 72 yards on 22 carries against Tennesse. Mike Hart had just 60 yards for me against ohio state and as Wyoming I couldnt run the ball for anything against southern miss but this game was 100% different.

B.J Manley opened the game with a 72 yards run, and had 133 yards in the first half against MTSU. At half I lowered the Human RB ability to 25% and B.J Manley finished the game with 31 carries for 219 yards and 4 td's. Now this may just be a great game by my impact rb, or any other number of variables that could have contributed to such a great ground game. I think I'll leave the RB ability at 25% for Humans for now and see how the next game goes though I wont face the toughest Defense(ark state).

The game did feel real though, just like all the other games with these varsity sliders. I am very happy so far with the results!

Re: GoCanes44's Varsity Sliders(Yes Varsity!)

Well, I tried these sliders last night, (sorry i don't have the stats, hopefully I'll get a chance to post the next ones.) but like someone else stated, the passing game is way to easy. #13 Florida (me) vs. #5 FSU. I won the game 62-21. I set ncaa records for most yards passing (760+) and most yards recieving (500+). The running game felt very good, but I just started throwing the ball deep do my impact receiver, not looking at the coverage, just throwing it up, and I came down with waaaaaaaaaayyy to many deep balls, and this is after I lowered qb accuarcy to 5%.

Your going to need to play the game to real life to get real life results, Im afraid the makers of the game made it so that on most deep passes the DB will pick his nose while the ball is coming down.

My point is that their needs to be some kind of penalty for playing like this. If there isn't, then I'm not really playing in a close game, i'm just refraining from killing the cpu.
