Re: Slider set up based on Team Ratings (XBOX 360)

Here are the stats from my first game with these sliders:

1988 ND (me) 46 1995 FSU 7

ND
off A- def B+
FSU
off B+ def B

Stats fsu/nd
FD 7/22
TOff 178/391
Rush-Yards 29-45/42-193
C-A-TD 8-21-1/15-24-2
PassYDs 133/198
Sacked 2/0
Turnovers 3/0
Fum/lost 4-1/0-0
INT 2/0

RUSHING
ND-Green 21/116, Rice 4/33, Brooks 11/40
FSU-Dunn 17/21, R. Preston 4/29, D. Kanell 5/-11

All in all, I know the score is lopsided but the stats came out pretty realistic. ND used it's dominant running attack with Green and Rice and once they got the momentum they were hard to stop. It just seems that once a teams momentum meter is full the other team starts to fumble and turn the ball over alot. I wish there was a way to tone down the fumbles.

Both teams did sub in 2nd team o and d late in the game with the score out of reach. One disturbing thing was that no matter how bad FSU was losing they NEVER abandonded the running game. I had an INT return for a TD as well as a punt.

I'll try a few more games to see if I need to make adjustments.

But more then the score was the fact that the game felt real. Was using other sliders before and while the games were ok it never felt right. Back to my original point which was to say good job with this idea and thanks.
thanks, in my last 2 dynasty games with WVU (A off and A- def) I defeated Washington St. 45-27 and Maryland 28-0, in the WSU game, I got out to an early lead and then got outscored in the second half 27 to 10. In the Maryland game, it was 0-0 at the half, so pretty much 2 different types of games.

Now i got my feelings hurt in an experiment game, lol, when i tried out a C+ team vs a good team. I started a dynasty game between Kentucky(me) vs Louisville. They took me out pretty good, the final score was Louisville 49 Kentucky 12.

The slider set up for me was C+(45) for everything and Louisville B(60) offense and B+(65) for defense. I couldnt do anything on offense or defense, their HB ran for 154 and 3 TDs but their QB had a bad day, 11-30 165 yds, 2td and 2int, it seemed like after he threw 2 early picks, he was rattled, this is the same qb who lit me up in my WVU dynasty for almost 400 yds. There defense was just all over the place, speed and power. I finished with 170 yds passing and 1 int, my qb was 18-35(sacked 4 times), i had no running game.

Re: Slider set up based on Team Ratings (XBOX 360)

I used to make team specific sliders for ESPN 2K5 and they were unreal. But i never really thought about doing it for EA games. LOL don't understand why since i was always messing with sliders every game. Now I have been awoken to this idea on EA games and I couldn't be happier. Now I can't wait for Madden and use the team specific sliders on there. The reason that team sliders are so good is that every game has a different feel and you have to game plan for the team you are playing. The plus side of this is the game doesn't become repetitive and boring.

Re: Slider set up based on Team Ratings (XBOX 360)

yeah, i cant wait for madden, i tried the team specific slider set up for madden 06 on the 360, I did a test game between NO and SD on all madden, NO rating was 87 off and 85 def, SD rating was 86 off and 83 def(go figure)(83 is lowest team rating with my updated roster). I put NO at 60 off and 40 def and SD at 60 off and 30 def, well, Deuce ran all over me, 150 yds by the 3rd qtr and i was down 27-7. Tomilinson for me had 120 but my passing with Rivers stunk. Im really excited to see how this plays out in 07.

I haven't tried these yet, but I can't believe that after all of these years, that slider adjustment just may be this simple!

Great idea!

I'll have to try these later.

i was thinking the samething, i did this in a madden game on all pro and got good results. man, can u imagine the struggles u'll have in using a C or even at times a B rated team in a dynasty now going up against the big boys.

Re: Slider set up based on Team Ratings (XBOX 360)

Fellas,

Just had my best game ever.

Purdue B/C+ (me) 13 Wisconsin B-/B 7

Game was played at Purdue.

Stats W/P

FD 10/19
Tot Off 222/330
Ru-Yds 23-59/34-90
C-A-TD 15-27-0/20-33-1
Pass Yds 163/240
Sacked 2/2
TO 3/1
Fum-Lost 1-1/1-0

PASSING
Pur/Painter 20-33-240 1TD 1 INT
Wisc/Stocco 15-27-163 2INT

RUSHING
Pur/Sheets 25-101
Wisc/Hill 20-66

RECEIVING
Pur/Bryant 6-141, Chattams 5-52
Wisc/Lewis 5-58

What a great game! My first competitive game all the way to the final gun. Wisconsin took a 7-0 lead in the first and Purdue ties it late in the first half on a Painter TD score. Two FG for Purdue in the 3rd and then a slugfest of Big 10 football in the 4th yielded no points. It's the first time I did not see a shootout.

The only thing that was kinda questionable was Wisconsin getting the ball with 15 seconds to go in the first half after Purdue tied the game and instead of taking a knee they run the ball and promptly fumble. Of course Purdue recovers. I send the FG team and they miss. Wisconsin takes over with 7 seconds to go runs one up the gut and call a TO with 1 second remaining and the runs another off tackle play. Just stupid. Oh well, no big deal.

Like these sliders.
