Re: Sydeburnz' 2013 Coach Sliders (HUM COACH vs CPU)

I re-did the UMass / UConn game today in my Dynasty with the OP settings, but jacked up to Heisman. Big improvement! However, I think it might be useful to undo the -10 subtraction to rush defense now that the difficulty is back up.

UConn put up 402 yards of total offense... 27 rushes for 174 yards and 2 TDs, 16-27 passing for 228 yards and 2 TDs. They also had a kickoff return TD that was called back on a holding penalty.

As UMass, I put up 34 rushes for 58 yards, 11-16 throwing for 138 yards and a TD. I struggled more than I thought I would, but I also spent a lot of time throwing deep passes near the end trying to play from behind. I quit the game with about 2 minutes remaining, and I'm going to try playing it a third time with the original OP settings before the rush defense modification.

OP settings? as in everything at 50 like normal?

Are you coaching or playing now?

I'm playing coach mode... All settings are from the OP (original post) so exactly what he has posted on page 1 of this thread, with the exception that I lowered FG Accuracy a bit. Other than that, it's all as he has it put in.

How many minutes get realistic stats? 10?

Played the UMass / UConn matchup a third and final time, using the sliders in the OP on Heisman, 9 minute quarters. The game felt great -- challenging throughout! I led for the whole game, but I always felt like I had to call my plays carefully or UConn would get back in it.

Huskies had 30 rushes for 57 yards, 24-32 passing for 285 yards and a TD.
Minutemen had 36 rushes for 91 yards and a TD, 7-10 passing for 2 TDs and 161 yards.

Time of possession was split almost 50/50. The running game felt about right this time around for two mediocre schools blasting it out at each other.

Only big concern is sacks -- UConn had 5 sacks against me, I had 6 sacks against them. Maybe a bump in pass blocking or a slight decrease in pass rush would help?

Edit: Also might consider a drop in QB Accuracy? Completion percentages seem pretty high now that I look at them.

It's a passing game... I'm not too thrilled about the yards per carry there.

I think you need to play your team against an elite school before making changes. I really think if a team is going to run 36 times though, they should at least get 100 yards.. The completion percentage is a bit high but the yards for passing seem a bit right on. IDK if you'd want to mess with that right now...

my 2 cents.

Re: Sydeburnz' 2013 Coach Sliders (HUM COACH vs CPU)

Well you got your wish about playing an elite team... After a 21-14 win over UConn, my Week 4 dynasty game with UMass was @ LSU. And I got CREAMED.

LSU wins 56-17... Tigers had 554 yards of offense, 28 rushes for 109 and 2 tds, 27-41 passing for 445 and 6 TDs -- and that's with about a minute LESS time of possession than me.

My lowly Minutemen? 27 rushes for 4 yards, 16-24 passing for 269 and 2 TDs.

I was sacked 5 times, and sacked LSU twice.

Re: Sydeburnz' 2013 Coach Sliders (HUM COACH vs CPU)

Did you take Pass Rush back down 10 points? 6 Sacks per side is about the average anyway, but with Heisman being in your play huddle, they are definitely an issue since LB's and CB's tend to skirt any block and rush directly to the ball.

I'll try to lab some today, been a busy week here.
