Coaching

The coaches need to start becoming a big factor into this game! Bring back the NCAA 06 style cut scenes or have coaches on the field. Also let them get fired or move to another school, even make the coaching staff so someone could get hired by another team or re-place a retired or fired coaches.

Re: *Official Wishlist - NCAA Football 11*

Gameplay needs to be fixed in the worst kind of way everyone is talking about how bad the pass blocking is but the run blocking isnt much better.

- Lineman should be more flexible in who they block and allow them to block people into the hole and make it the responsibility of the back to find the hole. We have a Back Cut vision on the game but if your line man don't ever block that way then it is in effective.
- There are to many different play names and blocking schemes in the game. Most college teams run 5 or 6 running plays with a bunch of formations and minor tweaks. Nobody runs a HB Dive out of a single back set.
- You need to fix the path that backs take to get to holes. When I run inside zone I get so pissed cause I realize that there is no chance for my guy to cut back. He is taking such an odd angle that if he tries to cut back he will get ear holed and die.
- I appreciate the fact that they put in the Power O play but the mechanics of it are terrible. You have a guard pulling and the center blocks the man in front of him instead of the DT and he runs in the backfield and eats my TB's lunch.
- They also need to fix the inside zone from the I. When teams run this play in college football they take there back opposite of where the TB goes and seal the DE so the TB can have a great cut back lane. Why isn't this in the game? You have it on stretch but NOBODY in there right mind is trying to cut all the way back on that play.

I know that I have listed alot of things here but I feel that to be true simulator of a football game the running game has to be redone as well as alot of other things.

Re: *Official Wishlist - NCAA Football 11*

-Make it so Online Dynasties can have coaching job offers and conference swaps. It is absurd that they aren't currently in this game. Only leaving it out so you can "add all new features" on a later game to make us think the game is more than just a roster overhaul (that we have to overhaul ourselves naming)

-Better sliders/AI

-More team specific chants/entrances/band formations

Re: *Official Wishlist - NCAA Football 11*

Guarantee this is going to be long, so bear with me. I figure much of what I say will be repeating what's been said, but hey, can't hurt to drive home things multiple people find important to this game right?

Let me start off by saying, I do actually enjoy NCAA 10, I'm still playing it, I'm still enjoying playing it, and even though I find issues, I can't help but have fun playing it. THAT SAID, they need to step their game up, and these are issues I think that need to be address. I might even make this two posts lol.

PRESENTATION
* I'm beggin EA, please change it up. It's not that the presentation is all THAT bad, it's just that it's been the same thing for like four or five years with small tweaks here and there. Plus, it just doesn't measure up to the last gen as far as player entrances, the warm ups, etc. Take me to the booth occassionally when the team is just discussing the matchup and what it will take to win the game. If you want to expand on the bands, perhaps the full length show isn't needed, just a snippet during pregame prior to the players entering the field. I just know the one aspect that is crucial is to have the players physically enter the field to boos and cheers, and involving some team specific stuff as well.

* Refs on the field, try to maybe increase the level of detail of the sidelines a little better, the crowd as well. Speaking of the crowd, cutscenes might be the best bet here, ala last gen with the signage and stuff. Just show reactions. Also on big plays, actually have that crowd burst into a frenzy on a deep ball connection, or when a running back breaks free. You know when that ball is in the air, there is a small hush, then, when the catch is made, HUGE roar. NCAA 11 needs this, more dynamic type of crowd reactions DURING plays, not just prior to and after.

* When players score touchdowns or make a huge play on defense, I wanna see more TEAM celebrations, I mean four or five guys celebrating together, not just one just jumping up and down while teammates walk away. Just kills the excitement a little bit. Imagine scoring a huge touchdown and having everyone get hyped up and slapping the players helmet and stuff. That's the excitement I wanna see in the game. When I get a big sack, having all the d-lineman celebrate together. When a big INT occurs, all the defensive backs and LBs celebrating, whatever. Just more group celebrations. You hardly ever see one guy celebrating with the mascot by himself.

* Last note on presentation, NEED to incorporate some kind of true end game celebratory sequences. Subdued for blowout, easy wins over cupcakes, more hyped for bigger games. Have the players actually show off the trophy they won in a trophy rivalry game. National Championship should have all the media and players and such on the field after the game with confetti, it should feel chaotic a little bit, cause it's a big moment, you just won the national title. I like the idea of the highlights package, but after seeing the players congratulate each other and coaches handshake and that kind of end game stuff, then cut to the highlight reel that currently occurs.

VISUAL
* Running animations need to be tweaked. Fast guys knees come too high, and the cycle is just not realistic. Plus, cutting can occur on a dime, specifically for the CPU. This lack of a true dig into the turf when making a turn makes the running twitchy and unrealistic looking.

* QB passes are still ridiculous, in that the ball comes out like a freakin rocket. Need to tweak this, slow down the release, make it more real, because it affects the passing game in that it is difficult to defend because the ball is out so quick. This is the case in a few places, where the animation seems quicker than natural, like a D-lineman breaking a block, they fire off and get a sack sometimes so quickly, you can hardly react to it.

* More visual issues would relate to the issue of you use the right stick kind of overpowering physics and momentum. When I'm the running back and I get stuffed back, I should be able to twitch that right stick and then burst forward for 3 yards when I was already falling back. That's terribly unrealistic and not humanly possible lol.

* That annoying animation where the defender will dive at the receivers legs and undercut them needs to be toned down badly, and needs to occur a lot less frequently. Sometimes I'll get undercut and drop a pass like 10 times in a game, that's just too often.

* Oh yeah, and TCF Bank Stadium for Minnesota MUST be in the game lol.

GAMEPLAY
* I hear the patch might have worked on some of this stuff but I have yet to see it at work, so firstly, I'll note AI blocking sometimes is just completely wack. FBs and OLs missing guys competely and getting my RB crushed in the backfield for a loss. Happens too often, way too often.

* Sometimes the D-line just acts way too powerless, a QB will just sit there and it's like a force field. I understand a strong pocket, but sheesh, it shouldn't be able to last like seven seconds.

* AI logic needs some tweaking in the playcalling regard. 3rd and 8 is hardly ever a running down. It doesn't happen a ton, but frequently enough to give me pause.

* Sometimes when I'm playing press coverage, the QB will just rocket the ball to the back of a receiver when he's engaged, like he didn't even look to see if he was actually open or not. I'd like a little more discretion there.

Some random stuff
* Formation subs
* Updated equipment
* Options for different gear in different weather, from socks, to sleeves, or even the turtlenecks some guys will wear in the cold.
* Old school unis, if they can fit.
* Stretched ratings (more on that in my next post involving dynasty)

Re: *Official Wishlist - NCAA Football 11*

And now the big one, Dynasty. I'll break this down into different chunks as well.

Presentation
* Right now, we have the ESPN headlines stuff, and that's about it. I would like to see a weekly show, dedicated to tracking top stories going on in my dynasty. Review the week that was, and then preview some of the top games for the upcoming week. Mention some top flight recruit commitments if they occur. Update the Heisman candidates, stuff like that. This could be in the form of a College Gameday type deal even.

* Speaking of Heisman, a small little Heisman show would be nice, just setting the stage, and then showing the winner getting the trophy with Nessler or whoever talking about how great they are and his team's success that year.

Coaching
* I think coaching needs to be a little more of a factor in the game. Right now, it's pretty much about the system they run and a couple of pitches in the recruiting screen. I am with bamaCT on the idea of giving them ratings related to their ability in different aspects of coaching, like recruiting, game day, and player development. This would make coaching more of a factor in the success of a program. Every program will not have the best coach around, so this will also be a way to have programs decline and incline up the prestige level.

Recruiting
* The mechanic of recruiting I have little problem with actually. It's pretty well done. But, my thing is it seems a little too easy to recruit the best talent sometimes. Like, there's been more than one occassion where a guy won't even have interest in me and I just give him an offer and boom, I jump in there and I end up landing him. I am Minnesota and it was only my second year coming off an 8-4 year, so it's not like I was Ohio State. Oh yeah, and he was the #5 overall recruit in the class. I just don't think that should be able to happen. To land a player of that caliber, you'd think SOME interest would have to be established at least, if I'm not in his top 10 to start the year, it should be quite unlikely I land him. Maybe I get in the mix, but to actually get the commit just seemed weird to me.

Progression
LOL, we all know what an uproar this issue is. My thoughts:
* Firstly, I think progression is overblown and has always been. Like, if you get a stud freshmen, how much do they REALLY improve over their 3 or 4 years? Is there really a, say 14 point improvement even from that player. Say NCAA 10 rated a guy 84 as a freshman in this game. Do you think they are likely to rate that same player a 98 in NCAA 13? I don't have NCAA 09 in front of me, but I can recall instances where a player in NCAA 09 barely moved in NCAA 10. But when you are playing dynasty, that hardly ever happens. You get like 4 points on average it seems. Just because a guy comes in at 84, should automatcially mean in four years he'll be well into the 90s. Also, in regard to 99 rated guys, they should be few and far between, on a Tim Tebow level, not just best in their class, but in the convo of best in at least the decade. I envision something like this:

5 star: 80-89 most of the time. Only select few get above 95 in a class, and like one or two per class may get to 99 even. There is just not as much progression to be made with these type of players, so they shouldn't just jump 7 points like it's nothing.

4 star: 73-80 most of the time. Takes a true diamond in the rough to get to 99, like once every few years. A combo of a guy with high potential, plus a coach with high player development rating would yield a 4 star who would reach into the mid 90s.

3 star: 67-75 most of the time. You will likely never see a 3 star guy reach 99 status, BUT, with the right combo of him being a diamond in the rough (ends up coming in at like 79,80 or so) , plus player potential and coach development rating, it can be possible.

2 star: 59-66 most of the time. 2 star guys may be guys who come in low, but some will have high potential because they're raw players who need coaching. He can become a 90-like player with great development, and possibly catching a diamond again (comes in at like 75), but if you recruit a team full of 2 stars, your program shouldn't be able to get to like a B level ever.

1 star: 60 and under. Low potential for most of these types of players, meaning not a lot of progression for the most part. Any team collecting 1 star guys should be laboring in the D range. And the distribution of recruits should be so that there are some teams who are suffering in the D level of talent.

That's just a raw, off the top of my head sketch of what I'm thinking of. The numbers themselves aren't that important, but just stretching the recruits out more and having less automatic 4 or 5 point progression for everyone, and more neutral progression I think would be better. I don't even know if people agree with this point of view, but I just think that would help with the whole every team gets better and no one stinks anymore issue that seems to be in the current setup of dynasty. And combined with coaching ratings, you could have a program who may not always recruit 4 and 5 star players, but can make noise because of a quality coach who develops his players and coaches them up well on gameday. Meanwhile, school prestige also still plays a role in the level of player a school may be able to get. It could be a very complicated system if you wanted it to be, but for a video game, it might be hard to do all that lol.

So that's just a few thoughts and wishes I have for dynasty. Hope some element of them gets implemented in NCAA 11.

The above 2 posts are the best posts on this entire forum as to needing things

ESpecially:

That is a shame its not in next gen system games
