The thread is labeled "Dirty Disc Error" not "What drive do you have?"

As for my drive, I'm not sure but now that I know what to check for, I will look tonight when I get home.

Sorry, i thought everyone was aware that dde really only happen on machines with the thomson. DDE's have been happening with xbox since launch... no real reason to not know why.

I've had my xbox for 4 year's and the only DDE's were those two games. Never had a problem with EA (03-06) so I didn't think that much about it. I am curious now what drive I have. I always thought you had to take it apart to tell. That's why I never took the time to find out. I don't play much (only sport titles) so it wasn't a big deal until the last 10-12 months.

If you've had it 4 years, its likely a thomson drive.

Yeah, I recently bought forza when it came out, got a ton of dde's, got fed up (i got dde's with ch2k5, ncaa2004, kotor1,2, a number of other games) and went out and bought a new xbox. old one = xbox media center edition as soon as i get around to opening it up and modding it.

Re: Dirty Disc Error

ok well i just started having DDE and i have the Samsung drive. The game worked fine up until the other day. I think it may be slight sctratches or a dirty lens. Can anyone suggest a good lens cleaner and or game repair kit?
