Jump Balls

Has EA said anything about fade routes from inside the 10 yard line? I have found that they are so unrealistic it is not even worth trying in 09. For anyone who has played All Pro from 2K, they have the most realistic fade routes inside the 10 yard line, the WR actually breaks the press coverage and goes to the outside backcorner of the endzone and the quarterback puts the correct touch on the ball by just tapping the button, then the receiver jumps and tip toes to make sure he is still in the endzone, it is perfect, there are so many different animations they have for this depending on the coverage, location of the ball etc.
On ncaa the WR just runs straight and trying to add touch to a pass in NCAA esp on fades and deep routes is near impossible with the DBS with 70 inch verticals when they are 8 inches shorter than the WR. I think it would add to the realism if you could properly take advantage of a mismatch in the redzone like this, anyone agree or know if this is going to happen?

I agree, it would be sweet if fade routes were realistic in the game.

I think it would be great also, but the problem is that they know people will eventually get real good at it and red zone td's would be automatic. People would only recruit receivers 6' 4" and taller just so they can toss it up. I know that had a problem with this on madden 05 or 06 when they first brought the vision cone. People would just run curl routes all game, the receiver would be doubled or tripled cover and they would toss it high and there was a 90% chance he would catch it. Only if they could implement i accurately it would be good, but if they cant it would become cheese.

I think EA could make the fade routes work because the jumping over the pile at the goal line in my opinion is done well. Its not automatic and there are some nice animations that take place.

I wish OMT would read this and try to get this into the game. Fade routes are ran so commonly close to the goal line and it'd be the ultimate use of mismatches or stick skills. At the very least give us a play called "fade" where he runs to the corner and we tap the button and the qb throws it to the endzone instead of where the player is going to be.

Re: Jump Balls

I use to use them in 08 (Might have been 07) all the time. My favorite play inside the 10. It didn't work at all in 09. Most the time pick 6. and you are right. You usually see this at least once a game in real life.
