NCAA 11 Pal version
Hi there guys
Long time reader of OS, just created this account to try and find out about this issue. I tried searching, both OS and google, without finding anything concrete. So my question is two phased:
1) Why is there a region lock in NCAA games on the 360? There has to be a reason for it, since some EA games are region free. The most likely reason could be a licensing issue - for example, EA might be contractually obligated to use the likenesses only in the US. Or something of the sort. The point is, this issue has been going on for years now, and in the 3 years i have followed NCAA football's development, i have yet to come across an answer from EA. Would be interesting to know why fans abroad are left out - even more so considering that the PS3 version is region free.
2) Is there a legal way to play NCAA 11 on a pal console? I will never "mod" my console or do any pirate-y stuff, just want to know if there's a workaround to the region lock.
I know for a fact that EA is losing on my 60 bucks every year, and i quite certain theres a sizeable number of people that would love a region free/ pal version of the game.
And please, to keep the topic clean, if you dont have anything to add, or any insight, please think before posting. Nobody wants to hear everyone bitch about EA and how they are the devil incarnate. Let's just try and find out if there's an answer to the question.
I stumbled upon a topic of this sort on the offical ncaa forums too, maybe some of you guys with an EA account can post there, might be a better chance a developer could see it there. Dunno. Sadly i cannot post the ink yet, since my post count is under 5.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
