So I've been using the Pistol PB in my Offline Dynasty with Miss St, and it's actually been quite successful. I'm in my fourth season and am just kind of biding my time until the tuner set hopefully fixes recruiting. I'm not a fan of Nevada's PB simply because it has about 5 Ace formation sets and I really don't like running the Ace. Pistol has those replaced but with only a few Shotgun sets. I was curious if anybody has run across a playbook that has a good maybe 50/50 or 60/40 balance of Pistol & Shotgun?

Not sure about the breakdown, but Indiana's playbook has the pistol in it.

I love running the ball out of the Pistol. i just find it awkward throwing the ball. I can't drop back right or something. Am I the only one?

I think the Pistol is best left to a team that starts with better OL, and a speedy QB. Not that you'd be running an option, but QB movement might help.

Underneath routes work with a pistol, but you have to outwait a blitz-heavy defense.

This is precisely why I chose the playbook when I started playing with Miss State. They have a very solid OL including 1 AA, a fast enough (good runner) quarterback and a HB that can make some noise. The only problem I have had is now that I'm starting to input recruits into my system, my depth chart is leaning more towards a 50/50 attack and away from a 70/30 running game. I still love running the ball out of the pistol, would just like some better throwing options. I've always run an air raid style in the past, but that just hasn't suited my team up to this point and it probably won't in the next few years at State anyways.
