Auto sprint or manual? Which do you prefer?

I really have mixed feelings on this. Sometimes, I like it alot because I have the tendency sprint at the wrong times when on manual. However, when I use auto sprint, my running game in general is better, but I am never able to break a really big play. I can break runs of 20 to 30 yards, but can never seem to take one the distance.

Auto sprint but I still hold the trigger down the entire run out of habit.

i use auto also but still hit the sprint button. i have been watching game film for the last 15 years as a job. the sprint button has been my biggest gripe with this game since idk maybe 2000. you hit sprint and the defense hits sprint you let off to make a cut the cpu doesnt and you can never make a second move. now you can get up in the hole without while putting light pressure on the stick and then burst up into the secondary. its beautiful. sprint button 100% arcade. its like tapping A button as fast as you can in tecmo bowl.

Much prefer auto sprint. In fact, I played one of the older games and had trouble adjusting back to holding the sprint button. I was sure to turn off auto strafe. That's just annoying.

For me it's much the same as other posters, Auto all the way but out of habit I still end up holding down the trigger. My reasoning is the same as "thelasthurtknee" said the manual sprint just seems arcadey by comparison.

I never liked auto. Manual for me.

my run game has opened up since I turned this feature (that I didn't know I had) off. I now suddenly am able to pick my holes much better before sprinting. I'd recommend turning it off for anyone having trouble running a spread option.
