That's what I've been doing also. It does seem the ability to get out of the stance first is a major factor in line play.

Other than that I agree - speed is huge on defense.

One thing I'm not 100% clear on is what attribute determines how fast a lineman comes out of his 3 point stance. Is it speed or acceleration?

In my experience, ACC is how fast the player STARTS moving, and AGILITY is how fast the player STOPS moving to change direction.
