The CPU RB Pass Blocking is downright awful!

Just got 9 sacks on Mariota basically doing this all game LOL, the CPU RB acts like there's no1 to block mostly every time even when I edit their awareness to 95 to do ANYTHING to increase their chances of getting in front of a rusher. Anyone else want to chime in on poor CPU RB pass protection ?

Ah, not only rb that I had problem with ,but players especially receiver or specialist team on punt return missed assignment to block. I also had problem with offensive linemen and receivers who always missed assignment to block during wr/hb screen plays.

I had the same issues using the community sliders but I have since just went to default Heisman, normal speed, 0 thresh with the only edit is tackle slider set at 0 for both. Since doing this I have seen back picking up blocks better and receivers getting enough block to spring runs. I will admit gameplay is not perfect but I can deal with aggressive DBs over the game play I was getting from those sliders.

I've played TONS of games and haven't seen stuff like that.

I use my own sliders which is what u said with normal speed and 0 threshold, also I tested with low tackle sliders and it doesn't make a difference. I'm not even nano blitzing, I'm just blitzing with 7/8 guys coming after the QB, and the RB just acts like this every time, acting like he's blocking someone with his animation but the dude is rushing right in front of him and it's like he can't see him. Just a bad glitch that can't be fixed.

What makes it worse, is that in that video, I'm only rushing 6 LOL. The RB is completely clueless.

Re: The CPU RB Pass Blocking is downright awful!

That video was awful AI blocking....

But to be honest I've not seen much of that at all in this game.

One thing I would like to point out is that you should focus on Pass Blocking and IMPACT blocking for RB's.

Those ratings are in the game and they do serve a real purpose if your familiar with how the ratings work.

Here's a few videos of RB's pass blocking on a roster file I use with Pass Blocking at default 50 and the level is only Varsity Level

Watch the UNLV RB help out to give Randall Cunningham time to throw

Franco Harris of Penn St blocking he eventually gets beat but the effort was there

Jim Brown of Syracuse you'll see him pick up his defender to allow McNabb to get rid of the ball

Great videos, but most of that is in Coach Mode so it plays out differently. Also I did edit pass block for the RB before even thinking about the Awareness rating and it didn't help one bit. I think block rating is only effective when the blocking process actually occurs and the duration of the block. So once that didn't work out when I put the RBs pass block rating to a 95, I thought oh yeah, awareness! But that doesnt seem to make a big difference either.

Also, in my video, it's 95% of the time, instances like that, where the pass rusher is coming off the edge, and is "supposed" to be 1 on 1 with the RB. EA just missed this small part, but it's a big part of the game especially when the CPU RB's animation is like that! Ha
