Thoughts on Pistol Offense in NCAA 14?

I run about 30% from the pistol. Of that, probably 80% is running the ball. There are great option plays out of it that get receivers into the running game too. As far as an option run playbook its great. Tons of misdirection too.

Passing...it's soso. It doesn't afford the pocket time of a true shotgun, which is hard if your line is weak or its a slow developing pass such as play action and the deep ball.

I agree that even the straight HB runs are much more effective in SG than Pistol. On top of this the option game out of the SG is AMAZING in '14 as EA completely retooled the SG spread option and added a TON of new plays to it.

That said, I will say that there is 1 (and only 1 from what I can tell) type of run play that's more effective in the pistol and that's power options vs. SG speed options. I do really like power options in the pistol.
