Re: Playbook suggestions for a future NCAA14 Dynasty story

My favorite playbook for starting out with a cupcake school, and I know you said you wanted to go with a run-oriented playbook but hear me out, is Houston’s pb and I’ll tell you why.

I tried the same thing with Georgia State and tried to go run heavy, under center, big sets, etc. What I found was that my line didn’t have the talent to hold up to most defenses by running this way. So I had to use a lot of trickery. Running a lot of counters, dives, and 01 Traps from Spread formations. So even though Houston is an Air Raid playbook, it has a lot of runs from the spread that can get yards. I’m on Heisman with fatigue OFF, so running is as hard as it can be. But I’m still putting up close to 300 rushing yards on average. And that’s with no read options!

So the next step is recruiting linemen so that you can start running from bigger sets. When you do get those guys, maybe you can make the switch to a playbook like Stanford or LSU like has been mentioned. Those are really fun playbooks to run the ball from.

But again, don’t discount those Air Raid books just because of their pass-first reputation. There are some good runs in there.
