NFL Head Coach Opening the Doors for Other Sports Sim Games?

If NFL Headcoach does well, I can see this opening the doors for an NBA next from EA.

I'd be worried about an MLB sim game from 2KSports since they can't even get the regular game right.

Maybe even NHL? or Soccer (I know in Japan/Europe they have sim games released)?

How about a wrestling sim where you create a manager/valet and then choose your wrestler that you want to accompany to the ring.

If done correctly, having games like NFL Head Coach for other sports on consoles could be really good.

A wrestling one would be perfect. Since you would have to deal with booking matches, keeping fans happy, keeping tv ratings up and predetermining winners with all the different storylines from show to show.

The engine that EA is using for the NFL game couldn't work for an NBA or NHL game. It would have to be re-worked to do either game. But a MLB game would be cool, obviously 2K would have to do it though.

There's already a soccer text sim on the 360, so that's nothing new.

well more indepth I meant though.

I mean the storylines didnt really get played out and there wasnt many to choose from. You couldnt pre determin winners unless you controlled the players and won the match. The fact you had to have the same match 2 superstars in the same match every week for like a month to get a rivalry rating was kind of rediculous. It had the fan ratings, but the lasting appeal was kind of dead IMO.

Re: NFL Head Coach Opening the Doors for Other Sports Sim Games?

I think football is the best sport for this kind of thing to be honest. With the NHL and NBA you don't really have THAT much to do on the sidelines. It'd have to be more of a GM type sim then anything else.

I'd like to see EA implement this idea with NCAA.

I was just thinking about this. I hope this game sells really well. If it does you can bet there will be more sim style games from everyone. It's time we combine the graphics of a Madden with the depth of an OOTP.
