Changing playbooks?

How do it in the off-season? Can you only do it by getting a new OC or DC and using his?

Re: Changing playbooks?

I have not noticed a way to change playbooks during a career, at least not during the first off season and regular season.

The developers have said that there is a "Use Coordinator's Playbook" option that you can select when hiring the new coordinator. I have never seen this prompt. Maybe it exists.

The option to "Lock Playbook Control" will NOT give you his playbook. The option to "Lock Offensive Philosophy" will NOT give you his playbook. From what I have observed, "Replace a few plays from _____ formation" will replace a small number of plays in that formation with plays from the scheme mentioned at the top of their hire prompt.

Otherwise, to my knowledge, the only way to change your playbook is to Steal Plays from opponents via a prompt that you will see around the 2 Minute warning at the conclusion of games. Or, obviously, to create your own.

I hope this is not true. I love this game, but this is a killer for me. I want to be able to change my play book based on the players I have. Please, someone tell me this isn't the way it is.

This is another one of those things that is drastically different than Madden or what you are used to.

The goal of our game is to build your own playbook and in the process build your team around it.

If you swapped out playbooks inside your career, you would have to have every player re-learn every single play in your new playbook which would be disastrous.

We decided to take different routes in this game than what people have been used to for years, so it will take some getting used to.

which is the beauty of the game...took over the chiefs, scrapped Herm's boring offense and implemented a west coast system.

Sorry, I was tired and nothing was going my way. I understand what you are saying, it does make since, it just now I am going to start my franchise over, because it is way too easy with Martz's playbook, Brahm and the Lions.
