Texans Crushing Miami 45-0 in 3rd Quarter

EDIT: This is not about the score but about bad teams not dominating good teams, and 71 rated QB's not throwing 70% or 80% pass completions.

There were a lot of people complaining that bad teams do well, and the QB % was too high. So yesterday I went back to my sliders which are posted below, and applied them to my Texans Franchise team. I used them in week 5 Colts vs Texans. You can see the stats over in my Franchise Thread.

As for this game week 6. Texans (me) are crushing the Dolphins 45-0 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Here are the stats of this game. J. Beck has only completed 56% of his passes, and a bad team is getting beat bad.

Yes, this is in career mode. This is my Texans Franchise in week 6.

EDIT: I call all the offensive plays and let my DC call defensive plays.

MIAMI: 0 - TEXANS: 45

Texans Passing
M. Schaub: (7 of 10 for 111yds / 3TD / 0 Int / 70%)

Miami Passing
J. Beck: (13 of 23 for 144yds / 0TD / 1 Int / 56%)

Re: Texans Crushing Miami 45-0 in 3rd Quarter

Thats all fine and dandy but lets face it, Houston isnt good enough to beat Miami 45-0, we can all sit here and rationalize everything to death to justify the outcome we are getting but Houston isnt good enough to be leading Miami 45-0 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Pimping don't be so negative. It's not about the score but about Miami not beating teams and QB's that are 71 rated not throwing 70% or 80%. This is what this thread is about.

Pimping, the reason why the score is what it is, is because Miami had 4 fumbles and 2 ints. 6 turnovers in all.

Edit: Add 6 turnovers with a bad team and you have an out of control score. This is not unrealistic. We returned 2 ints for TD and 2 returned on fumble recovery.

Re: Texans Crushing Miami 45-0 in 3rd Quarter

Im not being negative, Im pointing out that while you are striving for realism and think you have it in one area the problem then crops up in another. Houston beating Miami 59-7 and that doesnt concern you because you got realistic passing totals? You ran for 237 yards on the ground with Ray Rice and Gado both averaging over 5.0 per carry and that doesnt bother you because you got realistic passing totals? Thats my problem, I dont want exact realism but I want it to atleast be in the ball park and thats not even close. If I was Houston I would want to really struggle, I would want to have to fight it out with teams like Miami and other teams similar to Houston while really having a tough time with teams that are better then me, and it doesnt seem like thats whats happening. I wont post in here anymore as to not be so "negative" but I dont know what to say anymore. Im not complaining about the CPU passing too well, Im irritated with my own team passing too well and this test didnt address that since you only threw the ball 12 times.

This is more about a 71 rated QB throwing 70% or 80%. Or a bad team like Miami winning a game they shouldn't.

Thats all. Pimping i know you are frustrated with the game, but if i find things that make it enjoyable for others, i'll share it along.

Re: Texans Crushing Miami 45-0 in 3rd Quarter

I've gotta agree with claystone here Pimping, I've been following all of the slider threads, just not posting a lot. While I'm not ready to call these sliders a complete success because of one game, it is shortsighted to say that they haven't fixed anything because of one game as well. It is entirely possible that if someone does finally come up with good sliders that produce realistic results, every now and then there will be a 59-7 blowout result with those sliders. If you want a set of sliders that produce the average NFL stats every game then you'll never be satisfied, a set needs to be found that averages out to the NFL average over 15 to 20 games.
