Draft Board Strategies

Just wondering: how do you guys manage your draft boards? I typically won't do much with it, opting instead to leave it as is and simply draft the best player available at a position of need.

But for those of you who move plays up and down, what are your strategies? Will you move positions which you don't need completely off the board? In other words, if you've got Peyton Manning, do you still leave the top-rated QBs in the first round?

Just looking for some advice on managing the draft board. Thanks!

Can you move someone completely off the board? I keep rearranging mine and the idiot GM comes along behind me and puts his choices back on top.

I must be doing something wrong, but so far I've managed the chaos and not drafted the wrong person.

Here is something to concider. From what I have taken from the dev's comments about this game, I would try to match your coach's personality with the players you draft. So you may want to bump a certain player a few spots up or down on your draft board because of this.

I...uh...don't use the in-game draft board. I kinda...you know...have a notebook.

Perhaps it's time to take a break from the game...

Re: Draft Board Strategies

I mainly focus on ranking the guys positionally. The only time I really rank players outside of their position is in the 1st. A few selections before I draft, I normally scroll quickly through the positions to see who is available that I may be interested in, but this is normally just on day two. On day one I normally have in mind a few guys from the start, but day two I generally go with best available.

I can't imagine how anyone can successfully make a draft board ranking everyone all together since the positions you select earlier can effect the ones you select later.

Anyone know what the rank order numbers that appear in parentheses mean?

I only use the position draft boards. The main board is a bit too much of a pain to work with since there are so many players. I find the positions much easier to deal with. I know in my head which positions I want to attack first.

That had me cracking up when I read this, but I agree with you about HC. I have had long nights trying to get the Bears straightened out do to our real clown GM. (Jerry Angelo) Tampa Bay can you please take him back from Chicago because he is making me want to be a Colts or Packer fan.
