To wait...or not to wait?

Is this game playable right now, or is it best to wait for the patch to start my current franchise? Will I lose a lot if I start it now, or is it best to wait? I'm dying to get into it fully.

eh i suggest starting one just to get use to the game itself, its confusing at first

I've messed around with it quite a bit, starting in the offseason and just running through everything, but I want to start a real career. It's hard waiting for the patch, but I'm not if I start it now, will I lose a lot by doing that, or do all the fixes from the patch take effect in my already started career?

i thought i read that the current patch being worked on will not interfere with current careers

Per a post elsewhere by Donnie, the patch does not affect the save file so you will not have to restart your saved games in order for the patch to work.

I don't recall if any one of the devs posted on this, but from what I've seen (I downloaded the last roster update after starting my career) Roster updates do NOT take affect in a career you've already started and saved.

Which makes sense, since once you start a career you have traded, cut, signed etc so you wouldn't want any rosters over-ridden otherwise you could have the same player on two teams.
