Re: What Player Comparisons are the best?

I'm in the English draft arc and I swear there's a QB from Georgia Southern who is compared to Drew Brees and about a 87 potential in every draft.

I just drafted a QB compared to Billy Volek who is a 98 potential. I haven't seen if he suffers from a playbook allergy as of yet (aka the Josh Johnson disease... 100 potential and a 3 in learning leads to mediocre results) but I really lucked out as I was going to draft a QB from VT compared to McNabb (90 potential) or a QB compared to Jeff Garcia (90 pot as well) in the first round... high in the first round.

It also seems like every other WR is compared to Leron McCoy and that means they're crap. Poor Leron... he wasn't THAT bad that you'd name every bust after him.

Josh Johnson can be really good-4th year in a row with him as starter-he's got to the point he'll pass for 4000, rush for 1000, and compete for MVP just about every year. He does have a cap of 92 in learning, and he's reached it in my dynasty.

I was the Skins and I forgot who my QB coach or OC were, but I needed a couple of season before I could get their potentials up to have an impact on a player like JJ. Andre Woodson, however (who never played a down in real life), was immediately a superstar. I was with Jason Campbell for five games and then shipped him out. Woodson was a 90 by the end of the season and 93 ever since.

How do you develop QB talent on your bench? That's the problem I have. It's not like RB, WR or even OL (you can kinda cheat and put an up-and-coming OL in at LS and get him some production to gain some experience and improve) where you can manufacture a reason to play a younger guy.

But QB is QB. You sit your guy rated at 93 to develop a rookie at 75 (with 98 potential... my current situation) you're going to notice the dip.

I have noticed with my Patriots Dynasty that its depends on the coaches. My coaches are who helps players progress even when on the bench. There is no way to cheat it unless you change QBs at halftime. Then you might be able to progress both.

Re: What Player Comparisons are the best?

That's a really good list. Player comparisons is how I've been able to stockpile late-round sleepers on this game. Build a monster team for cheap. The downside are the shorter contracts for the late-rounders, but since I can find new sleepers in virtually every draft (especially in the English draft path), I don't mind letting those guys walk when contract time comes.

Re: What Player Comparisons are the best?

as for comparisons those are good, but as per above whether or not you get a comparison

qb ga southern is usually worth a punt
as is LE from UNLV (this is the english path)

certain schools (maybe on certain paths) produce solid at certain positions
