Wasn't given a chance to resign my RB

I just finished my season as the Bucs coach (4th year overall). I went 16-0 and one my second Super Bowl. Anyway, during this season I noticed that my franchise RB

never came up as an option to resign with me. He was in his final year.

So my question is, are there situations where your starting pro bowl player won't give you a chance to resign him? I could understand it if he was a backup or if he was on a bad team, but that wasn't the case this time.

Re: Wasn't given a chance to resign my RB

If it is his 3rd year in the league he normally wont come up during the season. He is a Restricted Free Agent. If you check the FA Preview it will tell you for sure if he is restricted...or just remember that after their 3rd year they are restricted.

If that is the case...the gm will ask you some time during the off-season...right before fa what kind of offer you want to tender. More than likely he will suggest a Level 4 Tender which would compensate you a 1st and 3rd round pick if you decided not to match the offer from the new team.

That freaked me out the first time it happened to me as well...

Great thanks. That may be it. That would make sense, at least.
