Yikes, I can't put my starter back in!

I was coming to the end of the half and had decided to run out the clock. Rather than QB Kneel I decided to give my #2 RB a couple of carries. I went to the Goal Line Formation playlist, scrolled to a play, pressed square (PS3), seelcted my #2 HB and ran 2 or 3 plays from that formation.

Early in the second half, I followed the same procedure to put my #1 HB in as the default for the Goal Line Formation. He wasn't one of my options. He was still in the game running plays in other formations! He wasn't injured or fatigued.

I had put my #3 HB, my fastest back, into one of the Singleback Formations and I could reverse that and reinsert my #1 HB.

What am I missing?

the other day i couldnt get my starting qb back in. i had replaced him to run a qb draw, and he decided he didnt want back in, i guess. not sure what was up with that at all.

I had the happen to me to! What I figured out was that my #1 RB was suddenly playing TE when my 2nd string RB took over!
