how to fake a shot? & team strategy

quick question on the advanced control config for Xbox: how do you properly fake a slap shot?

i can fake a shot by passing it to someone before i shoot but i haven't figured out the trick to a regular fake where the puckhandler keeps the puck.

oh, also if anyone knows where you can set team strategies in your profile to always be 'manual' please let me know; each game i start i have to go to the menu and change the strategy to manual to be able to adjust my team roughness level on the fly.

Basically, to fake a shot you just press and hold shoot (and the modifier for a slap, of course) and press pass without touching the analog stick. What's probably happening to you (and I do this all the time too) is that you're still holding the direction in which you're moving as you do the fake. It's much easier to pull off when you're not moving.
