I currently carry assault rifle, 10mm pistol, and tranq rifle. I would like to add crossbow but don't believe it would be good trade off from tranq rifle to cross bow. Mainly cause a tranq shot can land anywhere and put target down. Where a crossbow shot would have to be head accurate I would believe. So if you must make a long shot on a target, I like flexibility of tranq rifle.
I currently have the crossbow and tranq rifle(have max inventory upgrade). The crossbow doesn' have to be head accurate on all enemies, only ones with significant armor. The crossbow is pretty fun to use, only because if an enemy is near a object it sticks them against the object like a nailgun would. With that said it has a couple of downsides. There isn't a ton of ammo for it, the ammo takes up a lot of inventory space, and you can retrieve the arrows after using them, but the problem is they break sometimes when you try to retrieve them. If you stick an enemy to something they seem to always break when you try to retrieve them.

Due to the downsides I have been using the tranq rifle for the most part, but the crossbow is fun to use here and there as a change up. Sticking enemies to objects is strangely entertaining to me, even though that causes the arrow to break when retrieved. It really is pretty easy to line up headshots with it, particularly if an enemy is standing still.

You can still get the exploding ammo a little later in the game. When you go back to Detroit the dealer in the gas station, has the exploding ammo, along with a bunch of other weapon upgrades.

I have read some people saying that there are
Spoiler
on a couple of other sites. Big thumbs down if that is true, that doesn't fit into this game at all.

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion

Just beat the game today. A+ effort. I disliked a couple things, but it was an absolute blast, and it really felt like I could have played in a completely different style, so i'll likely start a new game on the hardest difficulty. My only issue is, by the end of the game, I had unlocked every stealth augmentation necessary, so not only did I have those, but I had enough Praxis left over to max out dermal armor, the typhoon, and pretty much any other aug that didn't fit a stealth playthrough. I wish it would have either cut off the amount of aug's you can get, or slow the leveling up process somehow.

Ending spoilers ahead:

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion

Reviewers complained about lack of ammo? I don't think I've fired more than 2 or 3 shots outside of the 1st boss battle. I understand you have the option to treat this game as a shooter, but doing so means missing out on one hell of a stealth experience.

Sneaking out of
Spoiler
without shooting anyone or putting any one to sleep was one of the better game experiences I've had in some time.

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion

I think I am getting close to the end. What a game. Just crazy that it came out with this much polish for a first time IP (this generation). I can only assume they are going to keep this going.

Anyone know how to check how many hours you have logged in the game? It doesn't seem to have that information on the save game data.

Just finished it. What an amazing game. One of the best games I've played in a long, long time. It really is a shame that a lot of people will probably ignore this and won't get to enjoy this masterpiece.
