Rock Band 2

"In other RB2 news, we've heard from our retail buddies that Rock Band 2 is showing up in databases 'round the nation with a November 2008 ship date."

It's easy to sit here now and say there's no way I'm going to buy all new instruments when I just bought Rock Band a couple of months ago, but Harmonix/EA know a certain percentage will eventually cave in. Now of course there hasn't been a news release about new guitars, new drums, etc... but you know they are coming since there is a lot of money to be made.

I just wonder how RB2 will impact the future releases of DLC for RB. Surely it makes more sense for them to shift the more "mainstream" songs for the RB2 disc instead of releasing it as DLC for RB.

Re: Rock Band 2

This could, without a doubt, take away my GH4 purchase if the drums have been updated and if the songlist is better than GH's.

Very interesting. If they can make RockBand 1 DLC compatible with RockBand 2, that would give them an extra advantage to GH World Tour.

That would seal the deal, if the drums were updated. Some of the songs you can download from Rock Band are, without a doubt, going to be better than a bunch of the GH4 songs.

Without a doubt, that would make RB2 an auto-purchase IMO.

Re: Rock Band 2

If we can.

A. Use DLC from the first one.

and

B. Upgrade the drums but don't HAVE to.

Then yes this is the only game to get IMO.

Re: Rock Band 2

Sweet. Now I'll have to buy this game along with a whole 'nother bundle of band equipment for Guitar Hero World Tour.
