as there are over 500K preorders you guys are in the minority.

I believe bdoughty said last week this game has sold more preorders than any other game in history.

Of course this does not make it a great game - but then again I don't care.

I am a fanboy of fun games - if this game is fun to me then thats all that matters.

AMEN! and I was one of the pre-orders.....

The zelda series has always brought a feeling of satisfaction when you are finished with it; other than a couple of instances ( zelda 2 the adventure of link on the NES and that abomination one on the 3do system ) I think zelda is a great series.

Feel lucky if you never saw this before though

hey look! its link

by the time you are 30 minutes into this you really do begin to feel like this:

I'm just not a fan of that type of game.

Also, I believe Zelda is the best selling pre-order on Gamecube, I think Vice City is still the best overall, but I'm not sure about that.

Take this with a grain of salt, but
Wind Waker pre-orders outsell vice city

"The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is the most anticipated videogame in
Electronics Boutique's history based on our pre-orders, even outpacing last
year's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City", said Jerry Madaio, vice president,
merchandising, Electronics Boutique.

By that assumption, if what they say is true, i would think that it also outsold VC at gamestop etc, but thats just a guess. Either way i love VC and will enjoy WW when it is released.

Re: Gamespot has Zelda review up!

Zelda has more preorders because of the hardcore following it has had since the NES days.

Vice City appealed to the "casual consumer" more. The GTA series has a strong following, sure, but it doesn't have the rich history Zelda does. The majority of Vice City sales are/were from walk in sales.

A good chunk of people who will buy Zelda have already preordered, while it was quite the opposite for Vice City.

Personally, I am looking forward to getting Zelda. I haven't played one since the SNES game, but its time for me to try it again. I am glad I kept my Gamecube. Hopefully I can still get the OOT "bonus disc" if I go preorder in the next couple days.

Re: Gamespot has Zelda review up!

Zelda was never on the 3DO? I am guessing you are refering to the ones on the Phillips CD-i (Zelda was the only reason I bought the system). The pictures you had did not come up for me.

Zelda's Adventures
Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon

In the second one you actualy played as Zelda. Nither was very good.

I am one of the few who enjoyed the 2nd Zelda as there was nothign more enjoyable then fighting your mirror image in the game.

Re: Gamespot has Zelda review up!

damn you are absolutely right

it was too late last night, was thinking 3d0, phillips, panasonic,
oh yeah the panasonic 3do
phllips cd-i was the one

either way both of those cd based zelda games where horrible. I remember trying to play it when i saw that machine at my local sound advice, left then came back, and they are playing 'two stupid dogs'. What a relief

I didnt like link's adventure, felt too rushed and just kinda cheesy, like the game trojan based ina forest instead of a city.
