At least I'm not alone in thinking it's pretty graphic.

I'm still playing the crap outta this game.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Wow I'm completely mixed on this. On one hand, it doesn't ruin the game. I still want it and I'll still play it but on the other hand, I had a really uncomfortable feeling watching that video. I don't really have morals to be honest lol, I do some pretty crazy things in GTA and I have a twisted sense of humor and stuff like that but I surprised myself because I thought I wasn't going to care but I actually do. I'm also surprised at how I felt watching that video because I'm Canadian and 9/11 didn't really hit me like it did Americans but I just don't understand why IW would put a level like that in the game knowing the heat they'd catch for it. I'm thinking they knew and are using that to cause a stir and hype the game (as if it needed to be hyped anymore). This is probably going to be the most infamous scene/event in video games ever.

One thing that's going to be really ****ing annoying is when the dumb***es at Fox News and whoever else start saying all those things about "Video games make kids murderers" or that they make people have suicidal thoughts, etc, etc. The typical video game sterotypes.

I have a feeling this is going to affect the sales of this game both negatively and positively. You know there are going to be those moms that absolutely prevent their kids from playing this when they see this video on the news. Also, those people that were involved in 9/11 or lost someone because of it are going to really be offended by this (as they should). At the same time, this game is going to be known by everyone now. Not just gamers. Everyone will know what "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" is after this.

For those people that say "it's just a game", I think this is different. You can say "yeah but you can kill people in GTA too" but it isn't the same. This is recreating the worst terrorist attack of all time. Something that is still fresh in the minds of everyone and will probably stay that way. To have people control someone who goes in and shoots up an airport in a terrorist attack is just too much man. Like I said, usually I don't care about these things but for some reason I do care about this.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Just finished watching.

My only observation other than the obvious "it's incredibly violent and will be offensive to a lot of people" is that it goes on way, way too long. I could see giving the user a minute or two of unlimited killing, that'd get whatever story element you're trying to get across across, but 8 minutes of shooting civilians feels unnecessary and wrong.

And good God that's a lot of blood.

Still won't stop me from playing it though, and honestly I think it's going to get a lot of people to buy this game, just to figure out what the hell the point of this level is.

Exactly what I thought after watching it. 5+ straight minutes of mowing down innocent people at an airport, all with screams of terror and frighteningly realistic graphics... enough to send a shiver up my spine while watching.

I guess if you think about it, many games involve gratuitous violence, killing others, blood and gore, etc. But for whatever reason, this just feels different—in a bad way.

It's going to be very interesting to sit back and watch what type of response this scene is going to elicit.

Easy there. Its not just Fox News that says videogames make kids murderers.

How is this reinacting the worst terroist attack of all time? So the big deal is because it's at an airport? What if it took place somewhere else.

I also hate the excuse of "it's too soon" so 50 years from now, this would be okay?

I know. That's why I said whoever else because I know there is politicians and other news outlets that will say something as well.

I specifically said Fox News because they are the most notorious for attacking video games. Just look at what they did when it was revealed Mass Effect had that sex scene.

I agree with both of you rspencer & WAAW. First off, it went on way too long. I don't know how I stopped myself from just closing the video. Second, it did feel different. That's what I said in my last post. I surprised myself because I had such an uncomfortable feeling watching it but I can go play GTA right now and endlessly run people over and blow their heads off and it doesn't bother me. I don't think twice about it. Hell, I'll even laugh sometimes. But this was different for some reason. I have to say it also looked and sounded way too realistic. I think that might have been why it was so uncomfortable to watch because it almost seemed like I was watching it happen in real life. Those screams were all too real as well.
