Gears of War 3 Release

It is good that they are going to take their time with this and release it in April of next year.

Microsoft will launch Gears Of War 3 in early April 2011, a trusted US publishing source has told Edge.

The first teaser trailer for the third person shooter is expected to debut next month on April 8, exactly one year ahead of the game’s pencilled in release date. A full reveal is due at E3 in June.

they gotta nail matchmaking in GoW3 otherwise there's going to be a riot.

Also, it's about time to introduce a few more game modes in multiplayer. Annex and KOTH are the same thing as are Warzone and Execution. Capture the Flag is just alright in GoW2.

From the sounds of it, EPIC believes that the game will be completed this fall and could have made a debut except that Halo: Reach and Natal are releasing. So they are holding back till next spring, so this should give them enough time to fix the issues with Gears 2. I can see this damn game and Crackdown 2 making me want to get another 360 again in the future.......which I am content without one right now.

It must be warming up outside the epic Games HQ in North Carolina, because Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski is gearing up to debut his latest game. The news comes from none other than Late Night host (and friend of games) Jimmy Fallon, who's tweeted that, "Game designer Cliff Bleszinski (@therealcliffyb) debuts his new game on Late Night next Thur. Set your TiVos! And your Xboxes."

If, like us, you're already grabbing your remote to do just that, Late Night airs on NBC at 12:35/11:35C and Mr. Fallon is specifically referring to the show that will air the night of Thursday, April 8 (or very early Friday, April 9 depending where you live).

It has been pushed back now to Monday 4/12. I guess the word is that they are still working on the trailer for the show trying to polish things.

Gears Of War 3 will feature a reworked cover system and underwater missions for the first time, Edge can reveal.

Developer Epic Games is set to evolve the franchise’s combat by introducing Locust foes with tentacle-like appendages which are capable of extending to player cover spots.

Meanwhile, the COG members of Delta Squad will be equipped with explosives that can travel beneath the ground to take out enemy cover positions, our US publishing source told us.

While the first two Gears games offered mobile cover in the form of objects like burnt out cars that could be pushed around, Gears Of War 3 will feature a heavy duty mech suit the COGs can utilise both for protection and to wreak havoc.

All of these new features will be present in the singleplayer campaign and multiplayer modes, Edge understands.

We were also informed that the game will be set during the summer and introduce a number of new environments to the series, including underwater locations. The end of the last title saw the COGs sink mankind’s last city, Jacinto, and flood the Hollow in order to take out the Locust Horde beneath the surface.

Hmm, I will withhold judgment until I get more information. I really enjoyed the first two Gears games so I have little doubt I'll like the third one, but I may just hold onto my Gears 2 disc even after the release of 3. Underwater combat, tentacles, mech-bots, all available online? I like Gears for what it is and this all sounds like the third game will have a slightly different feel. Again, not that that's a bad thing but I'll likely hold onto my Gears 2 game so I can go back to that when I feel like it.

I'm not too sure about the mech-bots, but I will still be playing this darn game regardless. I love this franchise, so I'm hoping that the new elements enhance the game and don't ruin it. I still wonder if we will see any of the female characters make their way in Gears 3 or not.

So that is why Marcus and Dom are on Lost Planet 2. The Mechs from LP2 are one of the best around in videogames, i guess Capcom gave Epic some help.
