Just finished BAS2 and I'm lost. Do you need to have played the first two to understand the ending?

Yeah, I didn't know that coming in, but BAS2 seems to deal with Inifinite and at least the storyline from the first. I don't think the second one is necessary, for I did not play that one but still understood things pretty well.

I only played 10 minutes of the first one, so BI is my only knowledge of the BioShock universe.

I've tried to read some spoilers now that I've finished. I'm probably missing some things, but my understanding:
