Re: Days Gone

Yeah, I’d go Origins first. It helps the story make a little more sense and I’m more in to the Egyptian setting. Really liked raiding ships and caravans and the poison darts were AWESOME. Spent a ton of hours with that game. I used Kassandra in Odyssey, and she may actually be my favorite Assassin in the entire series. Her personality just makes the game, so I’d definitely recommend choosing her for your play through. I’ve put in over 180 hours in Odyssey, so obviously I’ve had a blast with that game, too. Really can’t go wrong with either choice, man, but doing Origins first helps with the “present time” storyline.

Re: Days Gone

As someone who played and completed both Origins and Odyssey (both were a 9.0/10 for me but for different reasons), I would go with Origins first.

While Odyssey has the better characters and much longer story, Origins doesn't have the copy and paste layouts for outposts/tombs, etc. that Odyssey has. Origins sets up the present day storyline that gets continued in Odyssey. Also, hunting means more in Origins than Odyssey. I also prefer the Phylakes in Origins over the never ending bounty hunters in Odyssey. The HUD options in Odyssey though are great. There's 20 or so different options and you can customize it the way you want.

I love both games and Odyssey advances/improves upon almost everything but it's Origins that got me re-invested into the franchise after the disappointing Unity and solid Syndicate to where they were right there with Black Flag and Rogue for me.

Can't go wrong either way though.

Re: Days Gone

Screw it. These are the kinds of games I absolutely love. I picked it up for $35 bucks on Amazon.

I am playing through Far Cry New Dawn. I will finish that inside 35 hours then Day's Gone is up next. Watched some YouTube videos and this game looks like a ton of fun and I will get lost in that sandbox for 60-70 hours easy. This is the Zombie Apocalypse game I have really wanted.

Look forward to it.

It is full of fun.
I was just chugging along then realized I was out in the middle of nowhere and almost an empty tank on bike.
I did run out but managed to sneak around and found a gas can to get me back on the road... but it was a nerve racking experience.

We are starting this tonight.

Any tips or advice out of the gate?

When you leave a camp always fill up on gas and ammo as you will have plenty of $. The sidearm gun called lil stubby make sure you buy it as soon as you can. It gives you a shotgun as your smaller gun and you can get it pretty quickly.

Biggest thing I can share is TAKE YOUR TIME... explore but...
When going through areas always be on the lookout. Very easy to get caught with your pants down if you let down your guard for a bit.

Re: Days Gone

I've finished the main story and all side missions. After that i spent my time wiping out all the hoards , man that was exciting. I still enjoy just riding around the world , there's always something to deal with , but just in time they released the New Game+ mode so I'm starting over again but with all my stuff.

About the Hoards: I'd recommend for the first time playing when you start encountering hoards , watch them for a bit , they usually have a few different spots they move to , some are better then others for taking them out. If they spot you early in the game and you do not have one of the machine guns in your special slot (RPD or MG55) . I'd run, fast.
